@mack936: you should use the commited settings when viewing the satellite properties. But diseqc actually working depends on the card you're using and if it's supported by the bda driver (in case it's supported make sure the device settings are set correctly for your device just in case).

@majortom: fine i'll work on adding vct etc with those dumps should make things easier.

i use a prof 7301 and i searched for the device and it recognized it and then scanned in galaxy 18 channels very fast,now,this morning it's not working,keeps shutting itself down

@majortom: ok, i'll upload a changed bda.dev with atsc support lateron. Cannot access the smartdvb ftp server right now it seems. That changed 4000.ini you had can you send it to me to put in the my distribution. I assume this would probably work better for standard 8vsb atsc frequencies around there or can this differ?

@mack936: odd. You could try holding the shift key down when starting smartdvb so it won't tune to the last channel in case something goes wrong with that and you could check the settings. Otherwise perhaps removing the settings.ini could also work (although on win 7 it will probably be auto-reinstalled as mentioned before, simply creating a zerod one should also work i guess). THis is all all assuming the shutdown happens at startup??

jackjavo thank you for providing your work.  I really like the look of the application but cant get it to scan in any TPs on C or Ku with my DVBWold 2104D or C model receivers.  I see they are not on the list of know compatible devices in the read-me.  The app does find it as a 2104D and Ive tried many different parameters in the set-up but no go.  Do you know if the 2104 series is compatible or what is needed to make it compatible.  TIA.

The US stations generally will always have both ETT, and EIT.
You'll see a TVCT in them but no CVCT (the Canadian station from earlier is kinda an oddball in that regard). Let me know if ya have any difficulty retrieving these.

And yeah, I do believe if the frequency list I edited works for me, it should work for all. But who knows. Your using channel #s idea may be a good workaround, if ya find later that the list becomes cumbersome to maintain for other tuners/platforms.

Hi tom,

Can't seem to download those latest dumps (maybe yet). I updated the last bda.dev on the smartdvb site with atsc tuning support included. I want to support this driver in the future as it's much cleaner code to maintain and update. I managed to scan the atsc names and numbers from that dump you sent me before, i'll test with those newer dumps tommorow ir's pretty late already here. Sent you a mail in case you want the current build to test...

 Some more feedback. Wanted to let ya know I was able to get the Prof 7500 Tuning
also. Have scanned in C-Band transponders from 121W to 83 W so far, DVB-S QPSK, DVB-S2 8PSK, have graphed MPEG2, MPEG2 (4:2:2 Color), and H264. as well. The CPU Utilization is quite low even on H.264 HD channels (not flat lined at 100% LOL), which is pretty awesome. Although when on 4:2:2 I noticed the audio out of sync with video a little bit. Likely that has more to do with my choice of codecs than anything else. 
Would it be possible, in the Directshow settings, to allow seperate codec settings,
for Plain Old MPEG (4:2:0), MPEG2 (4:2:2), and H.264? Sometimes the best choice for MPEG2 (4:2:0), isn't necessarily the same as what ya wanna use for MPEG2 (4:2:2). So, ya wind up having to switch them on the fly when graphing something 4:2:2. 

I haven't tested any Diseqc commands yet, as I slave the Prof 7500 off of a DVB-S
STB, since the STB seems to control my Diseqc switch reliably, and I move my antenna with an old analog receiver. I will try and test the diseqc switch sometime with SmartDVB though.
So far I must say I'm pretty happy with SmartDVB, again Nice Work.

how do I setup Ku with this software? i can get c band to work,but not Ku! i have tried diseqc 1 lnb 1 for cband and set it to 5150
tried setting uo ku with diseqc 1 lnb 4 ( that's where the ku lnb is ) and i get nothing. I also tried diseqc 2 lnb 4 with no luck either

@majortom: good to know i knew prof7500 should work.

@mack936: if you're using bdas.dev as device have you looked at tools/device settings and made sure you selected the prof7301 under diseqc settings?

mack, I haven't tested Ku yet, but it should work fine, assuming the diseqc commands are configured & sent properly. For North American Linear Ku Sats, you'll wanna configure the satellite to Ku Circular. As that's the setting that has the right LNB L.O. frequency for North America. Remember what they use in Europe isn't the same as here.

So, for C (LO=5150) /Ku (LO=10750) Operation, you'll have to switch the LO freq accordingly. That is unless we can create seperate .ini files for C band and Ku Band for each satellite. That would allow seperate LO settings for each satellite depending whether ya want C Band or Ku Band. I don't see why not...

yes i know about the correct LNB setting for C and linear ku. i did as the previous response said to do and finally got Ku tuning in. 1 thing to note is that if you scan in c band and ku on the same sat,so far i have to go back into the settings and change the lnb settings from ku circular to cband to view channels if i want to watch Ku,then same thing if i want to view C band

yeah I hear ya, that's where I was going, thinkin it may be easier in the longrun to setup seperate
"satellites" for C  and Ku for the same longitude position, for Sats where there is C and Ku at the same location. Then ya could set seperate properties (LO Freqs). We could just call the C Band bird as standard, and offset the Ku by 1 decimal digit.

For example: AMC1 C/Ku comes as 2570.ini with C and Ku Transponder Freqs.
Nothing stopping us from deleting the Ku Freqs from 2570.ini with a name of AMC1 C, then creating a new one called 2571.ini with the Ku Freqs in it with a name of AMC1 Ku. Then we should be able to assign seperate LO Freq Properties to them. That's basically what I do with TsReader. Not sure how it will work with this program yet, as I haven't tested it like this yet.

actually you wouldn't have to go thru all of that. just copy and paste everything from a sat that has c and Ku and save it,then name it i.e. amc-1 c and amc-1 Ku. of course we have to setup our switches but it seems alot simpler this way

tom: adding a 2571.ini etc for sats should work fine. Just don't forget to add it to the AllSats.txt file in the settings directory for the sat to show up..
