For some odd reason I have lost any ability to connect to my router after doing a Factory Reset and format and reload of the OS. All my STB's are static IP's and usually connect lightning quick and this one did prior to this operation. Also it won't save any of the display settings and reverts to PAL when power cycled.  I seem to have lost my channel and satellite lists in the operation ,but the channel list was corrupt anyway. But until I can manage to get it to connect to my network I can't use MAZ to manipulate anything like that.

Any ideas appreciated.

Seems like that since the .dat files are corrupted, the thing to do would be to to start over by reloading the firmware from a thumbdrive.  Unless your hardware is damaged, once the new firmware is loaded, you can set the network settings to give you access to the receiver.
If you have ever saved the configuration, you could then reload working .dat files.
Just be sure to reformat the application area when reloading the firmware.

I noticed something odd this morning when I looked at it. There is no satellite list at all and there should have been from the initial reload. I have a backup but I'm not too sure of it's accuracy. There shouldn't be any problem hardware wise as it worked before the reload of FW it just had some corrupted channel data. The FW reload and format was to hopefully correct some sluggishness and other quirks.

I'll reload again and see what happens.

Thanks!

As is usually the case in similar cases, I have to ask, did you reload the firmware via putting patch.bin on the thumbdrive, and then turning the power switch off and back on?  Ie this is different from trying to do it via the remote.

Yes it was named patch.bin originally and this time as well.  For some reason it didn't extract everything the first go round, but I just reloaded everything and it setup everything on the first try!  Funny it went through the entire routine earlier this morning but didn't work.

Hopefully this will do what it ought to do [smile]  Seems like it loaded one TP per sat so that will make editing the channel list much easier.

Thanks for the help!!

I think once I had to do the firmware loading (with formatting) 3 times to get it to work.  But usually works first time.  I guess it depends on how bad the corruption is.??

Probably so. I did 3 times on format also. Probably going to have to do it again [confused]
For some reason after I scanned in the CBS carriers I downloaded the channel list to rename them since I usually had a restart required if I did it via remote. Now I get a range check error of some sort when I down load the file to inspect it due to the receiver being unable to find a channel list.

It's been a messed up Monday here ALL day!

So you seen the blue screen while the USB stick was in the receiver to format the application area?.What firmware version are you trying to load WT1964?

I got through the entire process first time..no errors, restarted and all.
I had to reinstall 5308 twice. Second time was the charm[smile]

Now if I can whip the no channel list found and range check errors I'll be good !

Thanks for checking!
