I was on SES3 last night, moved over to G16, and everything went haywire. Now all my sats are shown at the same position, 125W,  using USALS, for SES3, reset limits, saved, go to reference, when I try to scan  the sat I just programmed in, the dish moves about 2 deg. back and forth several times from reference point and will not go to the sat setting for SES3. Haven't had this receiver do this before, any suggestions? Factory reset?

I'm not sure what this means.  All of your sats are shown at 125W?

Yes, when I go into install and select a sat, no matter which one I select, it shows what I previously tried to program, say I just tried to program SES2 at 87. Now with that said, I try to program next sat., put in the coordinates and there is no option for motor setting, (not in bold) so I go to limit setting, save, and all the dish does is rotates back and forth a few degrees (from reference) for a few minutes, then stops. This is very confusing, it was not this hard to set up originally, was pretty easy actually, also if I set the motor diseqc from USALS to diseqc1.2 I can manually  go to the sat and tune it in, and I have a signal of 98% and quality of 98% so I know I am on the arc, did same setting for AMC21 this way and also have  98/98 signal. just will not let me reprogram the coordinates for each sat. Never seen such a thing......

only thing I can think is maybe you lost your reference USALS settings, and the motor is lost...???

no, odd thing, if I set the motor to diseqc and move the dish to position, it will store it, but the second I select USALS, no matter what sat I am on, the motor returns to reference point and then moves back and forth a few degrees, does that 8-10 times and then stops. Corniest thing I have ever seen, and it will do this anytime I try to program or reprogram a setting while in USALS mode, strange...I did check and there are no UFO'S hovering over my house...

By chance, is your motor a Stab HH120?

Try changing sats while on a horizontal TP, see if that makes any difference.

No difference, the very second  I set the motor setting to USALS, the dish moves to reference point and, moves about 2 deg. west and back to reference repeatedly

Some have had issues with the Stab motors not getting enough voltage.  Trying to move from a horizontal TP to another horizontal TP on another sat usually works being that it is sending more juice.

Can you describe your setup?  Like how long your cable run is, and how many switches you use, if any.

sure, setup is the 9000i,  rg6 thru a pansat surge protector, about 9' rg6 to wall plate then about 25' rg6 to the pole to KU dish & LNB, no switches, real easy setup. This system has been up and running for several moths with no apparent problems other than problems tuning in some of the recent preseason NFL feeds.

Seems simple enough.  Maybe double-check the rg6 connections to make sure nothing came loose, both on the wall plate and at the pole.

How old is your motor?

All connections are tight and dry, still have the problem that if I set the motor setting to USALS, the motor immediately returns to reference point then rotates about 2 deg. west and back to reference point repeatedly. If I reset motor setting to diseqc then I can program sat location and save it, and that is with no diseqc switches anywhere in the cabling. Not sure if this is a motor problem or a receiver problem, thinking the motor is confused......

Do you have another receiver you could swap out and try?  Or maybe try a new piece of coax to eliminate that as the problem?

Running out of suggestions...

It is just most important to share the find.
