New firmware Version 1.1.9 is available for download through your Linkbox 9000i.  Not sure if there is an update for the 8000 series.

There is a UTC update (online) feature now in time settings which will get the correct time and date from the internet.

To enable got to Menu/System/Local time setting (or direct button time on remote) and under GMT Usage select on, GMT offset, set your time zone.  You can set summer time on or off depending on daylight savings time.  You can hit the red button while in that menu and it will get the correct time.

I tested the feature by powering off the rocker switch in the back of the receiver. When I powered the rocker on the receiver corrected the time/date on boot.

There are no release notes so not sure what else was updated.  Looks like there is a new IPTV setup shortcut in the system menu by pressing the red button.  Some of the IPTV links may have been updated.

Great update just for internet time for recording.  [smile]

Enjoy Good People!!!

Emil

I picked up a Linkbox 9000i local from an individual about a week ago, and it has old F/W from Jan 2015.  Do I need to load the 111 first or can I go to the internet 1.1.9 that you listed.  I can see a download in the menu, but not sure if I should click on it or not.  An un-installed module came with the deal,so the box has not been opened.  This is new to me but I am fimaluar with Pansats.  This one replaced my 9500.  Thanks for the info, as I just downloaded the 111 on a usb and was going to install it.  Jess out in California

You should just be able to update to the latest through your receiver.  No need to load any other firmware.

Thank you!  I'll load through the reciever and clean the usb and load the new Manhattan f/w on it.  I was very interested in the OTA on the local, but in doing some much needed matainance on the house and some tree trimming I had a mishap with my old roof mount antenna.  No one hurt and only one long rod and a small uhf element bent.  Setting up the OTA will have to wait for awhile. I'm still learning, but like I said, I've had pansat's before.  I think I'm going to like this one.  Jess out in California

I went back and read the time info.  No wonder my time wasn't working!  I had the GMT off!  The red button.. well that's for other stuff.  You can turn it off so it is not displayed in the iptv.  Jess out in California

OK!  I can see the time change in the menu, but when I exit, the time is different.  Do I need to have the "standby" enabled to keep the time correct?  The way it is now, the internet re-conects each time I turn the unit back on.  Jess out in California

Thanks EmilNJ, that corrected one of the few things about this receiver I didn't like. Time keeping works as it should now.

Hi, I've downloaded the 1.1.9 software but still having trouble with the time.  If I try to use the GMT/UTC with a -5 hour setting (Pennsylvania), the time that shows in the time menu is one thing but the screen for a channel and the box will say something else; even with the internet time button. The only consistency I have is to turn the GMT/UTC off and put in the local date and time. At least it'll keep time for a while.

The manual in §3.4.4 talks about a "TDT Auto' mode. What is that?

Thanks,

I believe it stands for Transponder Date & Time.  It seems that is the reason why sometimes when going to a transponder the date and time will change.  TDT is enabled when GMT is set to on which is what UTC also uses to get the time from the internet.  If the time is changed while using GMT a power off and on will reset the receiver to the right time.  UTC is quite not yet perfect but a start in the right direction.  It looks like TDT needs to be deactivated when using GMT if UTC is going to rely on it.  Linkbox would need to do that or include a setting to turn off TDT.

From what I read at "hypers" site, the 1.1.9 was a test ver[not for release..wink wink].  So I guess we are the testers!  I kinda like this reciever, probably because I am used to the Pansat[Linkbox] menu.  I haven't got a chance to check out the OTA.  My antenna came down while doing some tree cutting.  I may put up one of the new antennas for awhile just to get some OTA stuff.  Jess out in California

Just a note to all Linkbox users;  there is new F/W that can be loaded via the internet onto the box.  The latest ver is 132.   This is a very good receiver in my opinion.  Jess out in California

Below are the revisions to Version 130.  Version 132 came out to fix a found bug in the m3u8 file.  UTC update still doesn't work correctly after a power up.

Here is a link to download the m3u8 file.   http://www.linkboxusa.com/download/m3u8_sample_list.m3u

Place your edited m3u8 file onto a thumb drive and insert the drive into the back port.

Go to Menu, Apps, and USER TV.  On the bottom of the screen next to the blue button you will see M3U File.  Click on the blue button to find the file that's on your drive.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

We are pleased to release above new version V130.

New version has the following improvement.

1. Add  USER TV menu to play m3u8 file up to 150 channels. Will try to increase the channel number eventually.

2. Deleted UTC auto update online bug at GMT off time adjust.

**** Attached sample version of m3u8 file.

**** Use Note Pad to edit m3u8 file.

**** All file should be selected when open the file.

**** Have to press Enter button after edit typing finished to save correctly.

**** Support http, rtmp, but not support rtsp.
