Good call on the file name. That worked. I was able to select option number 4, to reformat the area. When it said it was done, I selected option 5, which was the only one that made sense, boot without update. That seems to be where it is stuck now. The TV is blank, and the STB display says "Starting....." Nothing else seems to be happening.

Reformatting wipes the space the software on your USB stick needs to go. There's no installed software for your HD+ to use now. All there is is the loader program that either boots the now absent software, or runs the flashing program that's built-in. You haven't flashed anything yet.

Thanks! I believe that I may have it now. I found an old post from 5 years ago where a suggestion was made to reformat three times, then load the update from the USB. Tried that, and it's working now! Thanks you guys; you're the best. Now I have to go through all the how to's about deleting sats and xpdrs before I blind scan and saving with reboots, etc... Finicky receiver, but if I want to watch what I want to watch, I have to use this one. I'll even check to see if the Ku works now. Thanks again!

Additional information: The Ku works on both tuners now. Using the suggested procedure of: 1. Deleting all but one satellite, 2. Adding one sat that I will use, 3. Deleting the last sat that wasn't deleted with the rest (in step one), 4. Scanning one sat at a time, then deleting all xpdrs and channels that won't be used, 5. Rebooting before entering another sat. The box works great! Since it had two tuners, I plugged C into one and Ku into the other instead of losing SQ with a DisEq. When a sat is entered on one tuner, the box adds that sat to the other tuner, but does not save the sat parameters (LO freq) on the second tuner. I think this is why the box will tune the correct I/F even though I don't tell it which tuner to use or which cable is connected to which tuner. This was a good exercise for me as I was able to clean out all the years of unused cables and equipment from behind the TV. Stuff like the Motorola HD Decoder sidecar from when I used to subscribe to HBO and cables to nowhere. Now it's just the 4DTV to move the dish and the cables from the BUD go straight to the AZBox with a 16 inch loop back to the 4DTV for C-Span. Thanks again jdcpa for your patience and everyone else for helping me solve the riddle!

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well. We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!
