I want to thank everyone that is helping my husband and I giving good ideas to find c band satellites. We have had to put this aside lately as our weather has not been the greatest RAIN-RAIN-RAIN some of the suggestions require sunny days/working outside .Also our plate has been a bit hectic, soon to calm down and catch up so we can once again find those little rascals in the sky and pull them in. I felt I had to email this so all of you will know  your precious times and efforts helping us were not in vain. I will do a sun dance tomorrow, so we can get back on track and find our FIRST SATELLITE/STATIONS
thank you

Always glad to see new satellite seekers in Canada. I've passed through Fraser Lake en route to Smithers several times in past. We lived near 100 Mile House at one time. Best to wait for sunshine (it's coming here too today in Nova Scotia!) since a lot of effort can be wasted otherwise at least on Ku band. I like to see old satellite dishes being re-purposed so they don't become fish ponds or gazebo roofs.

I'm from BC, but I am living in Nova Scotia right now. Can't say I've come across any BC residents on this site.

Can't recall anyone being from that area on here, but we often don't bother with our location details as we are so scattered about.  I'm just across the border from Dawson Creek.  That is still a long drive from your place. We don't go into BC any more as they vandalize any vehicle with Alberta plates now since the Covid.  I've been to your area on a couple occasions.  Nice area.

If you have questions about your equipment posting photos is a good place to start.

What's with the vandalism?  Heading up to the national parks from the US in a rental car in a few weeks.  The car will have US plates.  Is the vandalism happening everywhere or just the larger cities?

Covid zealots.  Travel is supposed to be limited to essential travel only.  If they see an out of province plate they vandalize the vehicle.  I think it's more in the smaller tourist destination towns of BC.   Every other vehicle on the highway here is BC plates going to shop at Costco.  No one here cares where you come from. Not much Covid here. East coast provinces have actually closed borders to out of province visitors and have RCMP blockade at the border. Can't even go in for your Mom's funeral.

Hard to say when the US/Canada border will open again.

Weird.  I'm from a town of about 10,600 and a county of 35000.  We've had 12 and nothing active that I know of.  Everyone is mindful of Covid but no persecution of people from other areas.  You would think they would prefer not to touch your car if they had any sense.

Back to the original topic.  Main thing is, find a satellite and then blindscan.  If you can identify even a single channel, even if scrambled, and the freq where it found that channel, you are 95% of the way to figuring out where you really are in the arc (what satellite you are on).

Also, a suggestion.  If you aren't using your digital receiver to move the dish, there's really no need to program a different satellite for each satellite.  In the beginning, you'd probably mis-identify a lot of things anyway.

Since Rick mentioned you have an ortho feed (separate LNBs for V and H), I'd just setup one satellite for V and one for H.  (I believe you're using Diseq to switch between the two LNBs?).  Just dump everything into the same satellite (or two satellites), at least for now.  You can erase them later if you want to get better organized after you figure it all out!

P.s. tell us what channels you find, and we'll tell you where you are, if we can!

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well. We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!
