Thanks!!  That's great news that it is possible to do with VB6.  Now I can go back to working with VB6, and put off trying to figure out these "unhandled exceptions" I've started to get with the 2010 .net version. I was never maxing out a core, but thought that maybe VB didn't like taking turns with processing routines and was missing data. But now I think it was actually going to fast and getting empty data.
Anyway, thanks.  Now I know that it can be done in VB6, and put off migrating to VS 2010 until after it works better.

iBoston, I really appreciate your hard work and hope to test your app some day.  Any chance you may consider sharing the source code so a Linux version can possibly be made in the future.  Thank you.

I don't know.  Ill definitely release it if i am no longer working on the project...  I guess i have always been a bit shy about putting my coding up for Critique.

I understand your point.  I am in the very early process of learning python myself.  I am not much of a coder and only have dabbled a bit with C and Assembly in college 20 years ago. [smile]

I would hope the satellite hobbyist community would not be critical but thankful for your contributions.  At least that's how I would view it.

Can you zip up your CrazyScan version and Stream Reader dll version so that i can make sure that my sync errors have nothing to do with the Drivers so to speak.

Sure, sorry for the delay had to step out for a bit.

This is crazyscan.exe and streamreader.dll. If that doesn't work let me know.

Didn't work.. Same sync errors.  I tried to update the prof-8000 drivers too, but the windows 8.1 64 bit drivers for some reason give errors.  So, I'm running version 2.0.0.3, even though the Win 8.1 is 2.0.0.5

Sorry, can't help right now.  I have no internet, probably until Wed.  Using a hotspot 8 miles from home now, so don't have access to computer with sat programs, no cell service at home for hotspot.   I see midwestmac is helping.

I've had a crash occur twice.  Both times i was running out of the IDE.  I am now running in the IDE, and hopefully i can catch this 'Subscript out of range' error.  It hasn't happened quickly.. Usually running the software for 5+ hours.  So, its obviously a rare issue, but regardless, i need to track it down.

I have also made a new tweak to cut the song even better.  The ending of songs was good, but the beginning of songs would often times have the last whispers of the last song.  I think i made a tweak that will resolve that.

EDIT.  Also, there were times when no silence was detected.  I now attempt a 2nd time lowering the silence threshold....   Basically, I'm trying to perfect as much as possible the slicing of songs.

I have one, but have not used it in many years.  I am hoping it still works when I go to test it.

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well. We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!
