I got a 10' perforated dish in very good condition dropped off last night. It came from Nebraska so there is quite a difference in the declination setting. Do I just loosen the big nut on the top of the dish to lower the dish about half an inch? Would anything else need to be loosened?

What’s the latitude where it came from, and what’s the latitude of the new site?

Assuming your existing antenna tracks well for you, one solution, without even knowing would be to measure
the Declination angle the back ring makes when on your true south satellite of your existing antenna.
Then Compare that to the Declination angle on the new to you antenna, while it is on your true south satellite.
Set the new one to match the existing one. Then when you are satisfied it is set correctly, leave it alone.

Below is from the Perfect10 Installation manual, which explains better than I can, but the principle and figures should be the same.

And thanks very much for posting the diagrams. It's too dark to check it tonight but your explanation makes perfect sense and I look forward to trying it out. Right now it doesn't track the arc very well & I have weak signals on my usually very strong TP's.

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well. We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!
