Would someone please help me with adding a satellite listing to this older set?  I am trying to add 83W AMC 19 to my list of birds. My 5000 skips it, it goes from 82W to 84W.  I also would need to add just a couple of the stronger transponders on 83W also to get a signal before I do a blind scan. I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

With your Remote:
click > MENU
highlight > Installation
click > OK (enter PIN when necessary)
highlight > Dish Setting
click > OK
highlight > Satellite
click > OK
schroll down to 0.0E (first one will do, or any)
click > OK
press Red Button on Remote
Name New Satellite
such as "AMC9 ku"
schrolling down > set: (using right arrow)
LNB Power > On
LNB Type > Single
LNB Freq. > 10750 (depends on your LNBF, I'm guessing Standard)
22KHz Switch > as you need it (if you need it?)
DiSeQc Switch > as you need it (if you need it?)
press EXIT Button on Remote
highlight Yes (to save) click > OK
schroll down to Motorized Setting
click > OK
schroll down to DiSeQc Motor Setting
right arrow for USALS (even if you use NO Motor)
schroll down to Sat Degree
enter 0830 and when @ E
Click > OK (should turn to W)
if need to? (you should already have this) scholl down to Antenna Position and enter your co-ordinance (Longitude/Latitude)
now click > EXIT
highlight Yes (to save) click > OK
(should show "83.0W AMC9 ku")
now highlight Motorized Setting again
click > OK
when not using a motor (believe you have a fixed dish?)
schroll down to DiSeQc Motor
right arrow to OFF
schroll down to Save
click > OK
now click > EXIT
you should be ready for a Blind Scan now
schroll down to Blind Scan
click > OK
New Satellite (83.0W AMC9 ku) should be highlighted
right arrow to set your choices and do your Search
GOOD LUCK!

To add a transponder or do a Manual scan
click > MENU
click > Installation
enter PIN (if necessary)
schroll down to Manual Scan, when highlighted
click > Manual Scan
make sure you're on the correct satellite
if the Frequency and Symbol Rate are 0's
schroll down to Frequency
enter Frequency > such as 11735
schroll down to Symbol Rate
enter Symbol Rate > such as 04440
schroll down to Polorization
enter correct Polorization > for the above example use H
schroll down to Search Type
set the type scan you want
click > OK
if you want more Transponders click the Green Button on the Remote and repeat the process

You should be good to go now, so you can EXIT out
GOOD LUCK!

you can also use a program called "channelmaster" to save the current satlist from your coolsat, edit it, and and write it back to your coolsat. its faster than doin it with the remote.

I want to thank you very much Voomvoom. I will do that step by step when I get off work tomorrow.

Beano, I use channelmaster also. But I don't want to get into that right now just to add 1 bird. When I get some time off I will update my CM program again. Havn't touched it in 5 years!
Thanks both you guys!

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well. We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!
