My current STB is beginning to be as flaky as a home made biscuit and I'm probably going to be replacing it in the upcoming future.

I am wondering what is the general consensus's best STB of those legitimate boxes available?

I do quite a bit of scheduled recording but other than that being able to access the files from a networked pc is about the only thing different about my use vs the rest of the world[smile]

Thanks for any suggestions!

The Icecrypt 1600 CHD SE is one of the nicest receivers out today and for a great price.  It records very well and is a DLNA device so you can access media files from a network or USB and play them on it.  It plays XVID, AVI, MKV, and MP3 files.

Your welcome.  If you go over to the Icecrypt forum there's also some good information there too.

Is the current flaky box an Azbox? I'm just wondering if this is becoming a trend.

No it's an A3. I have low level reformatted it seems like a hundred times [biggrin]
But ever since the last time (last week) it has been changing to the channel tile ( select) screen
on it's own. This is new so it's got me wondering

After being unplugged for about a week my A3 was doing some weird stuff after powering it back up. It kept popping up errors and was just hard to use. I noticed that it was still logged in to the Gxxgle account. Since signing out of that it has been a lot better.

I'll give logging out of Google a try. The crazy thing was back on the channel screen again just a little while ago[confused]  Just doesn't make any sense!  When this happens and I don't catch it the timer event shows up as 1969 and 00:00 minutes. Makes no sense at all

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well. We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!
