Be careful if you buy a ME from Ebay.  There one on there now that is from China.
It could be a Knock Off.  If its a Knock off it may not display 4:2:2 HD or it could work better than the original.

Any more information on this please, I'm in the UK thinking about getting one (currently in stock over here) to find and view feeds and to add to my network.

Blindscan improved?
More info on 16/32 APSK?

Thanks.

RTI Enigma 2 Version 1.8 is out for the Me.  They made improvements in the Blind Scan interface.  You can now select a frequency range and a polarity.  Unfortunately I haven't been able to get it to work and scan channels for C-Band.  From what I have read  European users say that it works well for Ku but still has a problem finding the lower frequencies.  I have been able to only Blind Scan a few encrypted Ku transponders over here.  When Blind Scanning even if you select a polarity at this point it will still scan in both.  The RTI team is always making improvements so I can see them getting it right in the future.

RTI E2 V 1.8 has some other nice improvements in the release.  They have a new keymap for the remote buttons that's much better including the channel up/down button that works correctly now.  Improvements to recording and time-shifting were done.  Also they added additional support for 3G USB modems.  It is the stablest version so far.

The tuners specs doesn't state that it will do 16/32 APSK and I haven't tried any of those signals yet.  I want to test it on a 16/32 APSK signal when one is verified and live.

Thanks for that, reciever reports on this stb are so rare. I think I'll have to bite the bullet and get one of these and hope the reciever in the end performs how most people hope/wish it will.

The AZ BOX ME Receivers will be here the first of Next Week!

It is certainly a special receiver.  Not for the untrained or novice user.  The menus for the various softwares are very different than any other receiver I have ever used and with it being able to hold 3 different versions of software, it will be challenging to learn how to use to say the very least.

However, I do know that we have many very knowledgeable and advanced users that frequent the forum, so knowing this, I have my first order scheduled to arrive the first of next week and will have them added to my website then.

I will figure my exact price this weekend.  I just got the duty bill from TNT delivery today and they would not continue the delivery until it was paid.

If you are considering purchasing this receiver, please be forewarned that since the software is Opensource, there will NOT be a manual teaching how to use the various software's.  We will have to use this forum and other forums to learn how to operate it.

It is more like a PC Tower.  This is an advanced piece of Hardware with Great Potential.  Then you can add the software program that you want to use with it.

They will come with AZTrino software loaded into the receiver.  This software still lacks many functions and is far from being as good as what we think it should be.  However, some of the other software versions, as mentioned in Emil's review, are actually working very good.

So Please keep all of these things in mind if you are thinking of purchasing one of the new AZ Box ME receivers.

I still wanted to start offering them, as the more folks that do start working with them in North America, the sooner various software versions will get better as more developers / testers can offer input to the various software developers.

Continued thanks to Emil for all of his efforts in helping to teach me how to use the receiver and as always, thank you to all of the great members that help others and post feeds.

Another Great Day to Be Alive and have a Great Weekend!

No offence, but with me being from Europe and I may have to order from elsewhere. I have/had linux boxes now and in the past so hopefully it will be along those lines.

I will read and post my experiences on here and hopefully we can make this the now got to have stb.

Completely understand.  Going to be cheaper for you to buy in your own country.  My selling price is going to have to include the costs to have them shipped from Portugal to here and then add on the Import fees and I had these come in by Air, so no cheap shipping options to get them here.

There has been a lot of interest and with some of the sharp folks that have already asked to be on the list for getting one, I believe that there should be some interesting discussions to follow and we will certainly look forward to your posts.

I like the way you think!

Emil have you used the box yet as a PVR? I ordered a 1.5 TB HDD and it arrived today and would like to try some test recordings.

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well. We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!
