i'm looking for a new receiver and the 9000i has caught my attention, but i still have a few questions...

I was wondering if the 9000i was able to get 8PSK at the rather unusual 3/5 FEC with a SR of 30000? I recently saw one transponder like that on 30W, but i don't see 3/5 listed in the 9000i specs

Also, has anyone here used the UHF remote option? I was wondering a bit about its performance, for example would it work 2 rooms away (so through 2 walls)? And through a hardwood floor?

I have noticed many thread that mention that the 9000i has some difficulties keeping the time accurate. Is this still a problem? And if it is, is it happening even when connected to the internet?

I can answer the time question.  If you set the time via internet it will be correct until you go to a chanal that is putting out a different time.  The solution is to go to the menu and to time and hit the "red" button and shut it off there.  I have also found that the time will stay correct by turning it off if you are on an OTA ch for those that have the "local".   I do have a uhf remote that came with a package deal when I got my Pansat 9500.  Both receivers also use the same remote. As to the 3/5 fec, I don't know.  It is a good receiver, picture quality, and easy to operate.  Jess out in California

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well. We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!
