May be some cheap China units that are shipped to the US without going through customs that don't pay for any fees that legally sold receivers have to pay like for the use of Dolby, USB, HDMI, UL Listed etc.  Maybe one day our Government will do something about it.

Discussion or any support of those receivers in this forum are not allowed.

You might find a legal used unit that will do it on ebay or craigslist.

Thanks,

Rick

I've seen some cheapo receivers on import sites with 16APSK in the specs but when I look up the chipset used it only goes up to 8PSK. Sometimes the same chip will do DVB-T 16QAM so I think there's some confusion going on there or just outright lies.

Its getting to the point its not safe to buy from eBay they seem to be letting the ones from china say they are in USA and then ship from china and avoid the customs and you can not afford to ship anything back to china with a tracking number. So its all a scam for the Chinese now to scam just like Nigeria and other country's that are exempt from our laws. And if you give your Credit info to the overseas scammers you are out the money because the US Law will not go after them.

Its so much safer to pay a FAIR price to Rick and other REAL AMERICANS and know you have local support and the box is what they says it will be !!!!

If you cant spend more than $50.00 maybe its time to find a different hobby as well or save it up so you can get more.

So stop thinking Cheap and THINK FAIR  is a much better bet for sure.

GOD BLESS AMERICA

Tracie's right on target here..with that said I did just buy a $27 el cheapo receiver that claims to do 16apsk.It was cheap..and I don't expect much at all from it other than a quick play toy for a short time, if I cared about that I would buy a real receiver from Rick who supports what he sells and is honest. As Tracie says..."If you cant spend more than $50.00 maybe its time to find a different hobby"...

Now..as to eBay and "ANY" Chinese products..Buyer Beware! I bought some 7" LCD monitors for work. Customs seized them before I got them for being counterfeit. The seller wanted me to try and get them back from customs, and I did make an effort to no avail. The guy at customs was very helpful, but said this was an epidemic and they only catch a fraction of what gets shipped, and are cracking down. Finally the seller gave me a full refund and forfeited the monitors. Several months later..I received a nasty letter threatening legal action from the HDMI rights holders due to the monitors not being properly licensed. Fortunately, our high paid company counsel made the issue go away, as we had no idea of knowing these were fakes, and we never received them to boot. Now.. if most of you here had that happen, it could have been very troublesome.. and costly... to deal with.

Beware of Amazon too..At least on ebay, they are usually very clear as to where an item is shipping from. Not so on Amazon, where there are many Chinese sellers setting up shop.
It's not always clear as to where the item is coming from on Amazon, unless it clearly states "Fulfilled by Amazon." I have bought several items (not related to this hobby) only to find out afterwards it was not clearly disclosed where the seller was. Always check the delivery date, and if it seems excessive where prime and 2-day shipping is the norm..beware.

So..as the old adage says..if it seems too good to be true..it probably is...personally, I think this is yet another form of how china moves to undermine the USA.

There are many broadcast's by many broadcasters available in different forms of Satellite TV Equipment manufacturing for the US Consumer and is TVRO technology from the past made for today's HDTV. The receiver and interface must meet standardized rules for the consumer to enjoy free tv IN THE US and our Broadcast Law; without any subscription (and/or with subscription) legally. Every product shipped to the US is based as legal from design, to the fully manufactured shipped product (Standard Consumer). And thanks to gofastmotorsports by buying their products; they are the best around.

The Icecrypt 1600 CHD SE that Rick sells is great for DVB-S2 8PSK/16APSK as well as DVB-S QPSK feeds.  It also has IP capabilities and comes loaded with Youtube, RSS Reader, Weather App, and WEB TV among other things.   It looks like you can add IP channels using the WEB TV App manually by typing them in or by using a file.

Blind Scan is very fast and it works very well for a Satellite receiver and it's a quality item for a great price.   You may want to swing over to the Icecrypt part of the forum and read up on it.

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well. We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!
