I am trying to load the new f/w 95310 into the AZ.  from a USB.   The up-dating started and then stopped!  I had old f/w that was in when I got the reciever, and this is the first time that I tried to up date.  The file was unziped and came up in the "window" as 0.9.510azbox.   the install started and then stopped.  Should I do a factory re-set and then try again?

Ok; After setting for quiet a long while stuck in update and no control with the remote, I pulled the usb out.  The reciever then rebooted and everything is back to where it was before I started.  Looks like I don't have the file on the usb the way it should be, but yet I can see the file in the menu?  I know I must be doing something wrong in putting the file on the usb. I guess it's time to ask help from my wife {think she may be able to help].

Nope;  I just got it unziped and on the usb.  I'll have to get the wife to show me how to re-name.  Also tried to use the internet download method but there is nothing newer than the f/w that is in now.  {0.9.4585] Can I change the url and download that way?   I did my Pansat9500 all by myself but this one has me stumped.

You can change the URL, and there have been a few recent discussions on this, but I'd really recommend doing the upgrade via USB, since if something goes wrong, you have a hard copy of the firmware file there, and can try again.
I'd also recommend doing the upgrade via the reboot with the power switch rather than via the menu items, since you get the option to reformat application area, which has also been discussed here recently.
Renaming the file is mainly important when doing the upgrade via the power switch reboot. The file needs to be named "patch.bin", however as has been discussed many times, some people have Windows in a default configuration whereby it doesn't display extensions, so that patch.bin would show up as just "patch", so that when people re-name to patch.bin, the actual name becomes patch.bin.bin , which the Az doesn't recognize. The simple cure is to make 2 copies of the file, one named "patch", and one named "patch.bin". That way, one of the two will always work. Of course the better way is to change the Windows settings to force it to show the actual file names, which has also been discussed recently.

Thanks; I will try to find that on the computer and do as suggested.  I'm not very computer savy so it may take a few try's.  The one thing I don't want to do is mess up the AZ.  Sure love this box, even if it doesn't blind scan!

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well. We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!
