I have a Pansat 9000 and I am trying to get a channel and must be doing something wrong.  I can get it on a Sonicview using the same dish.  The SV picks the channel up using the following settings.
LNB 11250
Transponder 12234
Symb 4439 H
Fec 3/4

Without moving the dish I put these setting in the 9000
LNB 11250
Transponder 12234
Sym 4.439
FEC 3/4
DVB-S/Qpsk

It shows I am getting a signal of 98% and Quality 71%.
When I try to scan the transponder the status bar moves across the bottom of the screen, but the scan never ends and nothing changes.

I am picking up a test pattern same satellite tp 12694 H 3.978.
This transponder will scan as it should.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Use the sonicview to get the signal. Then get the aid, vid, and pcr numbers. Jot them down. Then do a transponder scan, (manual scan) with all the info entered into the Pansat.  That should do it. Pansats can be finicky at times. If that does not bring it in, could be that you are trying to get an s-2 signal? If that is the case, Pansats have a fairly high threshold to get a pic on s-2 transponders. As an example, my Manhattan will lock a signal with as low as 20% quality. My 9200 Pansat needs at least 40% for a standard signal, and a solid 72% quality for S-2 signals.

May I ask what bird that signal is on? I didn't notice any sat listed.

I also noticed that you didn't put DVB-s with the sonicview info. So I am really just guessing here as I work on my first cup of coffee! But if the sat was posted, some of us here can try to get the signal you are talking about and see if we can get an answer that will be more direct for you. Have a great day.

in the advanced menu section of the Pansat, when you're going to scan a TP w/9000 set the fec to auto, the only time you need to set the to a value of the fec is when you're scan in a dvbs2 TP.  also when you try to scan a TP in like these problems that you're having and nothing will scan in move the down link frequency up or down a MHZ at a time until it will scan in, like move Transponder 12234 to 12235 and then rescan it. you don't need to go into the "Edit TP Info" section just do all of this in the "Advance TP Info", once the 9000 scan it in it will log the TP info into it memory.

I still use to this day a Pan-9000 and its is a great receiver, so much better than the 9200 ever is, its tuner in it is very sensitive for dvbs an dvbs2 nothing like my deaf 9200.  the only receiver that has a better tuner is my Vantage. but you have to remember that the Pan-9000 that all TP info needs to be entered into it correctly to scan in channels. also on another note, the 9000 will scan in and play dvbs2-qpsk-pilot on, TPs but all this info needs to be entered via the channel editor for the 9200, you can not do it in the advance TP info part of the menu. or you can do what I did here when I built my Sat list with the editor, and that is add a dummy TP for dvbs2-Qpsk-pilot on for every sat in it list then just change the freq, SR and fec to whats it is and then when the Pan-9000 scans it in it will log it in it memory..

Isn't AMC 9 a standard Ku sat requiring 10750 standard or 10600 Universal LNBs? The only thing I see with a 4439 SR is the RetroTV mux at 11735H.

Just a thought.

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well. We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!
