the prof-7301 works great for me. if you can't afford to go the route of a receiver or 2 to do what you want done, hint hint there's not a receiver that will do it all as i have read many times, then you can't go wrong with the prof.

dvbviewer works so much more stable for me after i started using the one my son bought me and took my dvbworld 2104 out of service to use as a spare.

thanks and this shows me that Rick is always ontop of the game in attempting to have the best possible devices that he can get for his customers and we all should stand up and salute him for this.

Rick: great job and i salute you!!!

It hasn't disappointed me yet...the TT-3200 has been relegated to the basement computer...

i have a prof 7500 and a prof 7310. so far ive only had a bit of time to play with the 7500. it has the fastest channel zaps i have ever seen. and there are rumours of a windows s2 blindscan solution based on this hardware. rick is sposed to be the sole NA distributor as far as i know.

crackt out,.

I wish I'd read this last week.  I ordered a 7500 from China, and of course it might take a month to get here.  Would have much preferred getting one from Rick.

The 7301 and 7500 have the same chip set so the same capabilities. The difference is one is pci and the other is usb. I ordered a 7301 from Hong Kong and it took about 10 days to get here so don't be discouraged. I'm sure that when Rick gets them on his site, they'll be a big hit.

Also, the rumor I've heard is that the blind scan capability is faster than fast but that's only a rumor.

I expect the 7500 works with DVBViewer, does it also work with Tsreader ?

i can say this from testing the blindscan feature:
i put in a near frequency and select an SR then click scan and it found a channel that i could not get to scan in through regular scanning. i know that's not true blindscanning, but,it worked for me

Actually I did get it to sorta work with TSR...it would say "Not Tuned" and "no signal" but would show me the tables and thumbnails just fine. I can't remember what module I used but the card only has BDA drivers...no WDM...and works fine with DVBViewer. It can be picky about DiSEqC switches tho and some say it works best with the cheapie switches. I use mine with an EMP Centauri and it works fine, but it didn't like a Spaun....it had a problem with port 4. It would switch to port 4 and lock on a signal but if you switched to a different signal on port 4 it would default back to port 1. If you tuned to another signal on another port and went back to a signal on port 4 it would lock again. Signals on ports 1, 2, and 3 were fine...strange...

Thanks for the info, AC.  My configuration right now has a single Emp Centauri switch , to allow my Merc II to be the blindscanner for both motorized systems.  My skywalker-1 ( and new Profs 7500) will share time attached to the IF-out connector of the Merc.   I'm familiar enough with DVBviewer and Transedit from earlier times with a TT-3200 .

Looking to go the prof route very soon. Anybody have pros/cons on PCI versus USB types?

Only the obvious ones.  An internal card makes for a neater installation, BUT, in the event the card needs to be reset, you have to reboot the computer.  An external card is messy with cabling and power supply, but it's portable and easy to reset with it's external power.  I've used both types together and never ran into bandwidth problems with either.

i finally got an email back from prof today that i sent on 2/2/10 about using the remote in dvbviewer. i had not been able to get dvbviewer to recognize the remote til tonight. they sent me the file needed to get remote up and running. the main reason i wanted the remote working was to be able to control the volume. i can now do that in dvbviewer with the file sent. actually the channel up/down works now too.
