Use the composite output and see if you're in PAL video mode.  change it back to NTSC.

Just have to keep a composite video cable handy.  The system defaults are all for Europe .  Glad that's all that was wrong.

or look at the front panal where you can scan through the items after hitting the "resolution" button and change it from pal to NTSC without having to look at the video.

I was in settings the other day, hit the option accidentally for PAL/NTSC instead of the 1080i,720p, etc. option below it, and lost the video because it was in pal mode. I knew about the resolution/front panal trick and was able to get it back to NTSC and all's been fine.

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates on our receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply, that might help others as well. We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!
