I would think very close if not identical to what ya had with no rain. CBAND isn't affected by rain anywhere near as much as Ku Band.

I have one of those feedhorns brand new in a box, never used it though. Just can't imagine
a $50 LNBF outperforming a Made in USA Chapparal Feed + decent LNB on a 7.5' antenna, even if it's 20 years old. Never could get the motivation up to try it here, having spent so much time on & off getting the system to where it is. That's why I preferred to make the servo adapter. Too cheap to get myself a Bullseye.

BTW, if ya run femon on that older 3.2 kernel, ya can grab the quality numbers from there. From there since we know the formula for the stv0900 driver (see page or two back), should be able to figure it out manually in dB doing the reverse.

Thanks I will check it out. I would like a bullseye also. I have been retired for 21 years and with my fixed income  and no raise in 3 years due to the economy I have to watch what I spend. I will eventually get one but it always seems when I have extra money something always comes up.

I get the impression that the latest version of updateDVB is a little less sensitive(harder to lock) on
border line signals then the older versions.

Maybe I'm misreading.

The one thing I find is that I do lock onto more ACM/VCM signals but have no way interpret/view them.
I have saved a few as test.ts files and can look at them with Wireshark.
Also when I get these signals after lock it's possible to watch the Modulation and FEC change.
Is there a place to see the bit rate change?

Was there a way to do a blindscan for both polarizations?
I thought there was but when I change the LNB settings to B I only get the last one I used in the blindscan.
If I am over looking something please advise.

ACM/VCM is no different then any other signal, it can hold, audio, video, data etc. Are you confusing ACM/VCM with MIS ?

Did that break again ? I'll take a look into it. I dont use voltage controlled lnb's, I use a servo controlled by an Arduino over serial.

andy, the only one I was able to notice a significant difference was the 2/3 fec S2 8PSK. The rest seemed pretty close if not the same (at least for S2 8PSK).

I have never tested the Polarization, because the Prof 7500 here has never output any DC voltage for an LNB. I have always used it in a slaved configuration.

UDL, I thought u were camping... Loading it up right now to test...

Edit: That definitely fixed the 2/3 FEC S2 8PSK issue for me.
The weak ION mux plays fine until I get to 6.7 dB SNR now, when it first starts seeing some BER.
And the SNR at peak is the same as it was with the stv0900 driver, ~ 8.8 to 8.9 dB.

So the difference between stv0900 and stv090x is resolved now you think ? looks that way on my end but Id rather others confirm it.

Re camping we got back this afternoon, going out fishing again tomorrow. My son had a blast, he's hooked now. He basically think's he's professional fisherman now :)

Sweeet!!!  Nice pics too.

I'm thinkin.. wait and see how Darksky makes out with it, as his signals were a little bit weaker than mine on that guy to begin with.
Aside from that, the only other major issue with the stv090x driver is the flakey frequency read back. Without a solid frequency read back one can't use Blindscan for much.

I'm getting the same as you. Even if I try to change the polarity using the drop down Polarity box it will not change on blind scan. Other than playing with it I do not have a need to scan both at once so I have not used that feature in a long time.

No I did not. I have not been checking it since he was on vacation. I thought he was really taking a vacation. Is he sneaking out in the woods with his laptop behind a tree and working on updateDVB to hide from his family? LOL

Today is the last day of vacation :( back to work tomorrow. Going to try and do some more fishing this afternoon but the wind is picking up and my little canoe doesnt fare well in the wind nor waves lol. Id love to get a proper fishing boat one day but its all about money and I can borrow this canoe from work whenever I want and free is a great price.

The lake where we've been fishing is catch and release only, I honestly dont care for fish that much so it doesnt bother me that I cant keep them. Id rather release them so someone else can enjoy them as much as I did :)

Good to hear the fix is working for everyone, took me a bit to find it, had to compare line by line what stv090x was doing for tuning, what stv0900 was doing, and what the stv0900/stv0903 reference driver was doing. found those two differences and that seemed to be it. Dont know if the lookup tables even had anything todo with it or not, never tried reverting them, but they were defn wrong so I left the corrections in, not going to revert them to wrong LUT's. Wish I knew how those LUT's were created though, I cant seem to to find any mention of how they are derived in the datasheet, Im just taking the reference driver as gospel and using the same ones they use.

Wierd thing is that cut 2.0 were effected and cut 3.0 were not even though they executed the same code.

Now to figure out why stb6100 reports back correctly get_frequency() on some cards and not on other even though set_frequency() clearly works on all cards. This bug has been around for quite awhile. Just never got around to it.

Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed.
