udl, I downloaded the git tree last night and compiled it, all went fine.
I installed it this AM,
~ $ uname -r
3.11.0-rc2+
then did a fresh pull to update the updatedvb tree.
Seeing this error when compiling updatedvb
http://pastebin.com/KM342Vtx

Any ideas?

I just did a fresh pull and compiled and everything went smooth. Maybe he fixed it. I was not getting any errors last night either though. Just no picture after tune in updateDVB.

Don't think so, probably still sleeping from a long night

~/src/updatedvb $ hg pull
pulling from https://bitbucket.org/updatelee/updatedvb
searching for changes
no changes found

majortom: let me know if it compiles fine for you now.

The error you posted is an odd one, there are supposed to be two open() functions in C, one with two args and one with three.

http://rabbit.eng.miami.edu/info/functions/unixio.html

I probably should be fopen for that one call vs open anyways, let me know, if its an issue I'll get on it :)

I hate mixing C calls in C++ code but that darn QFile just wasnt working right and Qt doesnt want to admit the issue.

majortom: try that, changed it to the three arg version of open(), which honestly it should be anyways.

No it still doesn't compile.
But I stumbled on a workaround.
When I setup qt-creator for System Debug, it compiles with no errors.
When I go back to setting qt-creator for System Release, it fails to compile again.

So, it must be something the 'release' compiler options are checking, via certain  flags being set, that isn't set when config'd for compiling a 'debug' release??

see screenshots... (edit: originally posted screenshots were toast, took them again and updated).

that did it, compiles fine now when set to "system release" in the project settings.

The original complaint from compiler
Quote:
/usr/include/i386-linux-gnu/bits/fcntl2.h:51:26: error: call to '__open_missing_mode' declared with attribute error: open with O_CREAT in second argument needs 3 arguments

something I saw online..

Quote:
O_CREAT Open with file create (uses the third open argument)

Here is a shot of mine when it compiled and worked right. Looks like my qt creator is a different version. I'm using linux mint 15.

Quick Navigation:

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well. We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!
