I Need to get Tsreader working here tonight.
I blindscanned it in with pendragon driver using prof 7301
with UDL'S demux app then tried to play it with mplayer and nothing
Don't know if its scrambled or what? I need to get TSreader working here.

Yes, I have DSS enabled, but no lock.
The other DSS signals on that satellite lock fine.

I just noticed that SR 20160 is the same as the DMX music DSS mux on Galaxy 25.
Maybe it's going to move from Galaxy 25 which is now 20 years old.

Ok thanks, I can't get mplayer to give me that error again, it just sits there.
I don't know? If I can get dvbstream to work maybe I can stream this signal to tsreader
and see what it is maybe.

I have dvbstream working in Linux streaming to Tsreader now finally and get nothing on Tsreader. I can only stream rtp or udp.
I can't get the regular DSS signals to report anything not even a little blip of a pids
Unless theres a way to use the TCP/IP source or the TCP/DSS source?

Does any one know or how if I can stream to the TCP/IP.dll  source using dvbstream with wine?

I am by no means that familiar, but I believe dss uses a different packet size than dvb does.
so the 'demux' device in linux won't know how to deal with it.

Otherwise, if it could deal with it (which it doesn't) you could have just used updateDVB, or even dvbsnoop and
completely skip the dvbstream to localhost to TsReader step.

Okay thanks Majortom I think this signal is the dss 131 byte snyc or is it 130?
Here's this old link
http://rickcaylor.websitetoolbox.com/post/does-the-prof7500-really-do-dss-6277210?&trail=28

I decided to install dvbstream thinking it would stream the raw stream or at least all pids it discovered with  pid 8192 and forgot about the 131 byte snyc.
Anyways glad I got it working.
I haven't switched to windows or back to udl's kernel still using pendragons
don't remember updatedvb working with DSS?

The Tsreader TCP/dss.dll source works ok,  if you add in the "DSS to dvb" plugin to Tsreader it works better I think, although its usually scrambled.

midwestmac,

A while back I built a program that looked at  the IQ plot streaming over time versus straight on. Called it stv_linear_plot. Here's a snapshot of what that program saw:
wierd_dss_mod.png

Now here's a DSS next to it (12139):
dss_12139.png

I believe 12080 is pulsing it's signal and that is why updateDVB won't lock.

Signals like 12080 is why my next receiver will probably be SDR or at least part of it.

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well. We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!
