We got a new Sony 4k tv a while back. With our slow internet there is not too much to watch . I found that the Me would scan in and record the 4k channels fine. You could then transfer the recordings to a usb stick and play them. This worked great and the tv's player didn't have any trouble playing them. I tried VLC , etc on the tv and could never get it to stream or play the 4k over the network without breaking up.

I was messing around with a laptop with Kodi trying to set up streaming and playing from the Me. The Vu+/Enigma 2 pvr plugin scanned in the channels off of the Me and played them back great. It also scans in all the recordings off of the hard drive. Next I tried installing Kodi on the tv. It did the same thing and I also found that it will play the 4k channels too. So far it has worked out pretty good. There is no wonder that the Me is still my favorite receiver.

I think it was just open Kodi , go to system/ settings/ addons / pvr addons. I'm just going from memory but I think that was it.

Was this a recorded 4K video or were you streaming live from a satellite channel from the AZboxMe?

You should be able to play the channel live. The recordings are there too and play back great, at least on the laptop they do. We watched the Uhd channel for about an hour today on the tv and not one hiccup the whole time. It was a pain to set up at first and for a while I didn't think it would even work. The pluggin even says something about not being stable software. If you have the youtube app on the tv you can find some great 4k streams there too by typing  "4K"  in the search bar. I just now tried a recording on the tv and it seems to work good as well. I don't remember trying it on the tv before.

I tried playing back the recorded .ts file on my LG 55inch 4K TV, but nothing happens. Did you have to convert the .ts file to play it on your TV? It plays fine on my PC though. [frown]

Back when I was playing recorded ts files on the tv I didn't have to do anything to the files to get them to play. You should be able to look at the tv's specifications to see if it will play back ts files from usb. I would think that would have nothing to do with Kodi being able to play them though.

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well. We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!
