I need a new receiver for my C/Ku Chaparral co-rotor, the old one got misplaced during our move. The system is motorized. The dish is 3 meters or roughly 16'. The sheer variety of receivers out there is staggering; one hardly knows where to begin to spec out another HD FTA dual boot receiver with good firmware support. Any suggestions?

Very few new receivers can control a co-rotor and 24 inch actuator. You may need two new units including a perhaps newer better receiver.

The Uniden Supra used to still be around, don't know if it still is. I'm pretty sure Rick had them.

Thanks techjunkie02!  I just answered an e-mail to meijan with that suggestion!

Yes, still have NEW, old inventory Uniden Supra receivers.

Rick

I’m VERY happy with the Uniden Supra my NPR buddy had as a spare when my Drake ESR 1824 became too much trouble. The Uniden allows precise pointing. Its menu isn’t perfect but the sat storage is good enough to make my travels straightforward. It’s a durable unit. A reliable foundation for the rest of my equipment.

For anyone just getting into the Uniden Supra, back on 3/22/11 Rob posted the following:

I thought I would go into a little more detail concerning programming satellites. Go into the menu, like you did, and hit "1" to Program a satellite. Next, move the cursor to the desired satellite that you wish to edit, change or delete first. Next, don’t hit CALL, just yet. Use the SETUP button to get the name right (followed by ENTER), then hit CALL, (now you will get snow) and next hit VIEW. Then move the satellite to where you want it to be, and hit ENTER.

The reason you got static and snow was that it was looking for you to enter the position, but to see where it is currently located you have to hit VIEW. Then move the dish E or W as needed and hit ENTER again. Now the new satellite you want has name and position stored. You will be taken back to the PROGRAM SATELLITE menu, for more programming if desired. If you are done at this point, simply exit (by using cancel button).

scanner here again. Yes it’s a cumbersome process, one only somewhat apparent, but it works.

Haven't gotten that far yet, but the information was instructive.

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well. We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!
