I've finished (for now) putting together tarball-1.0.  It's a tarball with an installer script and patches to the linuxtv.org latest tree.  After running the script and following the instructions to complete the installation; you should have the modules necessary to use Updatelee's stv090x-scan tool and lock high speed muxes with stv090x based equipment.  (You need a TBS or Prof card or USB box.)  You need to be running linux also.

It can be found at 'hxxp://jowski.no-ip.com:3000/tarball-1.0.tgz'.  Change the x's to t's and paste the rest of the line in your browser.  The ':3000' is needed or you won't find what you're looking for.

All feedback is welcome.

Jim

edit:  I did this against a 3.2.29 kernel.  I don't know if it'll work with a kernel earlier than 3.0.

You're welcome.  I took down the link because I'm having issues with either the code improvements or my hardware.  I just think that for now it's the right thing to do.  If you or some other adventuresome soul would be so kind as to run the installer, do the make install, and see if their system receives like it should; that would be a huge help.  I've had to revert back to applying just the Pendragon high speed mux patch and Updatelee's early improvements patch.  That tarball is available at hxxp://jowski.no-ip.com:3000/tarball-1.1.tgz.

Sorry for any inconveniences that I may have caused,
Jim

I'll test 1.1 this evening.  I'm still using drivers built with one of your early beta editions no problems.

Are you saying that 1.0 works for you and that you can scan and tune?  I can scan with it but can't tune.

Not sure which version this is.  It's from a link you PMed to me quite a while back.  Going to do a run with 1.1 now. I'll let you know how it goes.

Just a quick look at your patch before I start to build and this part....

You probably want to remove the last two lines also.  These...

If you leave those in the driver has to have DVB-S or DVB-S2 specified when you try to tune.  I think it'll tune DVB-S without a switch, but not S2.  Allows you to tune S2 with old apps that didn't get updated to S2API.

Watching CBS with the driver built from 1.1.   All seems fine.

I'll try removing the last two lines in your second quote and see if that fixes things.  Did you remove them?

Thanks for posting this.  I finally can lock the CBS TP's!  I still have some quality issues though.  I can see bits and pieces of the stream, but it is unwatchable.  Blindscan-s2 says 82% signal.  Sometimes it drops to 0 or 50%.  Dvbstream reports a ton of continuity errors.  It might be a LOS issue with trees.

You're welcome.  Could be as simple as bumping the dish a click or two to the west.  Cooler weather causes the arm to be slightly shorter.  (Cold contracts)  I had to bump mine two clicks to lock 137w yesterday.  Of course a chainsaw never hurts when dealing with overgrown trees.  You should see the plum tree that doesn't produce in my side yard.  1/3 is missing but 58w comes in very nicely now.

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well. We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!
