Merry Christmas everyone!

Just had a brilliant yet potentially stupid thought, fueled by eggnog.  Could the 15000 symbol rate of these backhauls have anything to do with why they are weaker to receive than the NBC net feeds with SR rate of 30000?  I can barely get the 11830 feed and the 11810 feed is too weak for me.

I need to get a life.

Pops, I believe the answer is "Yes", because the 15K SR feeds are using half the available bandwidth, and also half the available power (usually), of the transponder.
The network feeds, OTOH, are 30K SR and full power, e.g. 11880H.
Sure, you can have a 15K SR feed and use full power, but then nothing else can be on that transponder. Maybe that's the case today.

Merry Christmas!

I know that when I had the 8 foot dishes, solid and then the mesh, getting a TP with an SR of 15000 was a rarity. When I did get one it was usually very weak on the low end of being strong enough to watch. Since I got the 10 foot solid those SRs are now usually in the mid 80s to low 90s. The KC-Denver game tonight came in a 80% which was unthought of for me 6 months ago.

Uplink rain fade on the den-kc feed? When I first tuned it earlier this afternoon, the feed was nice and strong. In the half hour leading to kickoff the feed degraded into occasional blockiness and now into the game it is all blockiness and unwatchable. I know there has been rain in the area so there is a chance to affect the uplink.

Post a photo of your dish. Sounds awesome. Is your c band performance good, too?

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well. We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!
