I have 1 Meter motorized Dish. All the other channels come in very strong and clear. I even deleted all of channels and rescanned. Everything came in, but the NBC news feed as of today. Are they still dealing with heavy rain at the uplink site?

Thank You.

That signal always seems to be a lot weaker than the two other NBC muxes on SES 3.
Currently I'm seeing the following:

11760 H 30000  13.9 dB
11880 H 30000  14.4 dB
12080 H 30000  8.0 dB  No Lock

I'm using a 10 foot Unimesh dish.
It acts like a 1 meter dish on Ku.

I need about 9.6 dB on the NBC news feeds to get a lock and 10 dB for error free video.

I always seem to lose it at night, but it's mostly ok during daylight hours.

You really need a 1.2 meter dish if you want to receive it reliably.

Well I had not retuned my 1.8 meter Ku dish until just now after I got the 24 chickens and had to unplug my sat receiver to get power for the chicken monitor here in the FTA and Chicken Control Room.

11760  17.1 db
11880  16.8 db
12080  10.5 db

My dish acts like a very well tuned 1.8 meter Ku dish with ortho PLL Norsat lnbs. I can peak it up at just arms length away to the control panel buttons.

My chickens can not be fine tuned but still count in as 24 total units. Today I did build them a second story loft with ladder. They got their first taste of water melon and Kale leaves. The "output " from the chickens remains near the same level.

You gotta figure if one of the tps is over 6 db lower that it may be harder to receive. Only a bigger and better and more well aligned dish will ever improve those conditions. I find my chicken channel and the NBC channels both have some of the same  content in view these days. (flocks of the same kind all together strutting their stuff flapping their arms and wings at each other)

I have the chicken monitor right beside the 3 spectrum analyzers on top of the rack mounted controllers and receivers. Both the dish farm  and the chickens appear to be "tucked in" for the rest of the night with little movement expected un till early day light arrives. Then "some fresh news" may show up to view. I hope to  double the size of my hen house this week and perhaps double the size of my dish farm this summer. Some of my sat dishes "may be harmed" when I cut off their button hooks and mount them upside down to use as chicken shades and covers.

A few days a go I had strong lock on the NBC news feeds. I guess I have to see what happens in the next few days.

This might be a place for a separate fixed dish just to get these channels. Then it is easy to very fine tune this fixed dish but not mess with any others sat positions or channels on the dish with a motor drive system.

12080 72%Q

1.0m
11760 82%Q
11880 83%Q
12080 72%Q

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well. We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!
