tom: adding a 2571.ini etc for sats should work fine. Just don't forget to add it to the AllSats.txt file in the settings directory for the sat to show up..

works like a champ doing it that way. i did this tonight,i copied everything from 2750,saved it as 2751.ini,added it to the transponder files, then went into allsats.txt and created 2751.txt.
i then went to 2750 ( G28 ) scanned in the cband, then, opened up 2751 (G28Ku) then scanned in the Ku channels just fine. when i want to watch the Ku side,i select the Ku sat,if i want to view C band then i select G28 C

i have to give all the credit to jackjavo! i haven't figured out yet how to include quotes from others, but,i'm trying. he responded to you about the conversation we had on the .ini adding and i copied his answer and then typed in the message to you and all who are reading this thread.
i just added AMC 21 Ku as it's on sat and bumped it up 1 number like the we said. went in and set the lnb and then scanned! of course i had to add the transponder info for LPBS since it was not in the original .ini file for Galaxy 14 & AMC 21

edited to say: the only problem i seem to be having now is when i create a shortcut to this program on my desktop,it diesn't want to work. i have to enter thru my computer/program files/smartdvb then it works great.

Hey Mack,
are you running WIN7? if so try highlighting the shortcut, right click on it, and "Run as Administrator". See if that works...

absolutely!

to Quote someone on the forum, paste the quoted text you wanna quote in the reply window, highlight the text, select the "wrap quote tags around selected text"  icon. It's next to the smiley face.

i also noticed something else tonight that i had not paid any attention to.
before i go to full screen there's a guide at the bottom of the screen. i am watching the hdnet feed on amc 16 and i have some sort of guide at the bottom, under the actual video screen.

Where can I get a copy of this program - would like to test it with the TeVii S464 card.  Does anyone know if it is supported?  And if not, how can it become supported.  The TeVii cards are very nice cards and will do S2 with lower quality levels.  We need more software which is compatible with this PCI card.

TIA
Steve

Thanks.  I found it - it does not work with the TeVii card for some reason.  Maybe Jack will have an answer to this.

I would like to see how well this performs using my card, but it doesn't work at all.

The software does identify the card under the BDA driver, but then nothing happens.  Can't scan anything in, shows no signal or quality on anything I have tried.

I'm going to attempt to try the matchbox pro next and see if that one will operate with the software.

Will follow up later on this.

Steve

when it recognized your card, did you click on the select at the bottom of the screen? then make sure your disecq is setup correctly in the sat menu before you try to scan. i have found that if i create a shortcut on the deskyop then it doesn't work for me. but if i pin it to the task bar it works great.

Jack where is the latest bda.dev? I downloaded the one from your site but SmartDVB does not see it. It keeps loading bdas.dev

Thanks

@kp4akb: you'll need to install the vistual studio 2010 redistributable package for the bda.dev to run (next smartdvb version will use that environment and install the required dll's ofcourse)

@ohiosteve: there is some tevii code in the 0.1.5 version and the code works with other tevii cards, i'm not sure why it wouldn't with your specific version, never had a report that it did so probably now. I'll have to investigate that. Maybe the upcoming version will with the new driver if you want i can send you a copy of that...

Thanks Jack, I would be willing to test anything you release on this card and the Matchbox pro for compatibility.  As I don't use a diseq, probably won't test that part of things, but would love to see this program work well on these two receivers for sure.

If you can send that new driver, would be happy to give it a test.

Thanks again
Steve

SmartDvb 0.2.0 is out. I installed it over beta 1.6 with no issues. My updated sat list was not changed. All setting held. I immediately noticed a fix in the scanner window. The lag time between sat changes is gone. The scanning issues are gone. Also fixed is the 29 satellite limit in the satellite list. 2.0 is looking good. Thanks Jack.

0.20 also, works great with Digiwave 8x1 uncommitted switch with 22k- very fast channel surfing. Faster than using my 4x1 committed switch with 22k.

Thanks again Jack.

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well.
