SES has applied to the FCC to replace AMC 1 with SES 3.
The application has not been approved yet, but SES has asked for expedited authority so I think they want to begin transition soon.
Also, the filing indicates that ku on SES 3 will not be skewed like AMC 1 so the transition will take longer to finish.

It's been nearly three months since SES requested approval to replace AMC 1 with SES 3.
It appears that the application is still pending at the FCC.
I wonder what is causing the delay?

I don't know, but I can't get any of the NBC's on AMC1 as of today. Beach feeds are booming, no NBC though.

I don't know what this bird's life length is(SES 3), but it should be soon 1/3 it's life gone by since it's original launch.

103W Ku is normal offset skew here.  Same as any other day.  NO CHANGE!

SES 3 was launched in July 2011.  Estimated lifespan is 15 years.

so if they get it switched over by July 2013 that's (2) years of it's life it won't get back.  Seems like it's been longer than that, but sounds about right.

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well. We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!
