Can anyone please tell me if the Reuters feed is still active? I am unable to lock this signal from Regina Saskatchewan, as it seems I am possibly outside the satellite foot print. Does anyone from western Canada or the Northern USA see this signal?
If so do have a 1.8m dish that I could install if there is a remote possibility of locking this feed.
Your help on this matter is much appreciated! Thanks

Watching it right now with a strong signal on a fixed 85cm dish here in NC.  I keep one receiver and monitor on this one all the time.

Sounds like you will surely need a 1.8 to see this signal from your location.

I would look to find a 2.4 offset or use the birdview 8ft.

Have you tried using a 1.2 to see if you can lock it?

If you are referring to 113W
12046 H 18899
DVB-S2 QPSK FEC 4/5

Requires a minimum of 4.6 dB snr, I currently receive this at 6 dB snr here in Western NY state
Partly cloudy skies.

I can get a lock on the 12076 Mux but it's not that great.

[113.0W] 12076 - Horizontal - 5787.34 - 3/4 - QPSK (SNR: 5.4 dB, RFLevel: -54 dBm

This is using an offset Ku LNB on my 3M Andrew. This is not he best setup and the LNB is not the best but it works for most situations.

I can get my hands on a used 1.0M next weekend for a good price.  I am going to try that first before I install the 1.8M, as if it doesn't work I will put it on G16.

Would be good to know if anyone in North Dakota, Alberta or Manitoba can see this signal.

Thanks

OK, that one is only DVB-S, explains why you get that one.
I receive 12076 H 5787 DVB-S QPSK FEC 3/4 at ~ 8.2 dB, almost 3 dB margin.
min snr is ~ 5.5 dB for DVB-S QPSK FEC 3/4
You are about 3 dB lower than me on this one.

And I have about 1.5 dB margin on Reuters. So maybe you can assume you are about
1.5 dB shy snr wise on the Reuters mux? So think about how you can gain at least 1.5 dB snr overall
compared to your current situation.

The 3M Andrews will not touch it so what do you have in the works Lineman?

I'm in Thunder Bay, On. and I can get the 12076 mux with my 90 cm dish, but I have never gotten the Reuters channel. I think a 1.2 meter dish should be able to lock it for me, judging from the footprint map.

I am not sure yet but I am probably looking to a dedicated install with a single polarity Norsat LNB.

I know that I have tuned this before but I do remember a discussion some time ago about a signal strength change.  I have a 1M offset on SES 3 and I get about the same strength on the 3M offset on the NBC channels. So I am hoping that if I install the 1.8M I might just be able to squeeze enough to see that signal on 113W. I know the foot print looks like I maybe SOL but its worth a try.

Do you receive this signal Hockeynut?

given you are 3dB less than me on the DVB-S signal, while using an antenna that's at least 3 dB better than mine gain wise.. either ur about 6 dB behind footprint wise, the alignment is way off, or there's an obstruction..
or some varying degree combination of the above.
