In your first post you mentioned a loss of signal or less signal, I wonder if the receiver should be suspect? Do you have another one to try? If that doesn't work try another lnbf.

We tried another new Fortec Mercury II receiver.  The motor still wouldn't move.  And, in the initial troubleshooting stage (before the motor problem), we swapped my LNBF with another.  No improvement in signal quality.  This morning, for the heck of it, I tried moving my dish with the receiver...but still no luck.

Too much torque in the bolts securing the motor.  The motor now runs!

Which bolts do you mean, the bracket to motor bolts or the bolts holding the two halves of the motor together? I never would have thought of too tight bolts...learn something everyday.

trying to setup my sg2100 motor. i am @ 26.5N / 85.6W.
according to the manual i should have the motor set to 26 latitude and 64 elevation.
that is where i have it set on the motor itself,it also says the dish dhould be set to 30 degrees. after reading hockeynut's post on this subject does this sound correct? or should i subtract something from the 30 degrees to get to the correct number for my area?

33936 is my zipcode

sg2100 motor would not move, red light flashed when pushed buttons at the motor.
swapped out with a spare motor, from rick, of course. then took the bad motor apart.
ant farm inside literally, full of ant farm debris.
not as bad as wasps, but they were mad and were biting.

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well. We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!
