I dug out a old openbox s9 I think I got it from fridge a long time ago. The note on it said RCA plugs don't work but hdmi plug good. Which is true after testing it. At some time missing around with it I have loaded skybox firmware on it. It says version C2HS2-11-07-17:0650CMT. It seems to be stable so far, Is there any better firmware I should search for?

Thanks,

Mudpitga

P.S. remember not to hit the vformat button on the remote. ZOOM for sat list

That is the same fw I have been running since it came out.
It is the most stable version out there.
Tried several that came after, and always went back to it right away.

My S9's info shows version HDS2-10-07-12:0290 CMT.  It has worked flawlessly for three years now.

Go here you will need to register. great site for .fw  You will see the ones about 3/4 down page. I Have not tried them.
ALSO NEVER EVER USE ANONYMOUSX NON CLONE KILL FW.....IN SOME CASES IT WILL NOT LET YOU CHANGE TO ANY OTHER .FW.

Openbox is manufactured by Yojia in China.

http://www.yojiatech.com

I also have an old Openbox S9 and I took the firmware on the Yojia website. But they removed the firmware when they discontinued this product. They did the same thing for SatHero SH-200 meter. It is replaced with the HS-300 with a real DVB-S2 tuner and the updates are not compatible. [frown]

Yep,Majortom, think that is what has been on mine for couple years, mostly considered the BEST FW.
Away from home ATM,so cannot verify, but fairly certain that's the one.

My S9 has HDS2-10-11-08:1026CM and get audio but broken or no video on G19..3980 MUX  TBS5925 w/computer picks them up ?? My 8.5 ft has marginal signal I assume. Any other receivers have a sensitive receive as the TBS5925 USB ??

I can *just* tune it in on my 10ft dish, but only after getting the focal length perfect. I've got a buttonhook feed so I just loosened the setscrew and tapped the end of the feed with a hammer while watching the Q meter (after resetting the f/d ratio to the dish's specifications, of course).

No offense to PR west....I would be very careful using Anonymous X modified FW. I had one person contact me a while back and they loaded it and it could not be replaced. I think it was august of 2011 or 2012 FW. It is meant to defeat the "this box is a clone " for clones...it has the clone killer stripped out...but the one anonymous x .fw overwrites the eeprom and cant be replaced by anything but it. The first one he put out I think was called RED something was fine and could be removed...the one from AUGUST could not.....Just a warning. Glad it is working for PR WEST...not sure if the one he posted is the good one or not.

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well. We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!
