All of a sudden, after 4 years of no problems, my Openbox S9 is freezing.

I was watching the UL-Lafayette at South Alabama game tonight, ESPN U
G17  12188 V  15000 and it would freeze every few minutes.  To get it going again, I moved up one channel and then back down and it would start up again.

I tried deleting all of the transponders on G17 and blindscanned the game in, but it still froze.

This also happened last weekend when I was watching some games.

Any suggestions or is the unit maybe showing it's age?

If you haven't solved your problem yet, there are two things that you could try:

1.  Find the latest (or last) firmware available and load into the S9. But, of course, make a copy of what is in the receiver right now for backup purposes (for "just in case").

or

2.  Dump by USB to a thumb drive.  Then reload it back into the S9.  Perhaps, the receiver is just becoming a little "confused" because of its age and needs to be refreshed.

I have an S10 that had had similar problems and it took an newer firmware update to fix it.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Sky,

I think I pretty much solved the problem by installing the firmware skybox_S9_CMT_110717 which I am also running on my other S9.

Much obliged for responding,

Dan

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well. We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!
