EDIT2:  I am going to clean this up.  A false alarm followed by success.  Some earlier remarks which were in error are now removed.

Success after all!

113W Eutelsat 113 West A

4000 H 17993 3/4 32APSK

Locked but not-quite-watchable channel:  "Service 01"

The AZBox Me even turns on the TBS5925's green "lock" light.

Congratulations, you guys!

P.S.  Is it safe to assume 16APSK should also work?

Thanks everyone.

Re:  Me with TBS5925

Just a follow-up on blind-scanning.  It only seems to work occasionally.  Most often it drops to the OpenATV 6.0 logo and locks up the STB.  But when entered manually, 16APSK and 32APSK transponders are able to be locked.  I have tested and re-tested this several times on 113W.  So far haven't found a channel to scan in that was clearly watchable.  So at least maybe the blind-scanning and the looping "spinner" already discussed would still be issues that could be looked into, if desired.  [smile]

Been following the thread, but don't have a card to add anything.  Rempfer, I agree completely on point 2 with the spinner issue.  It happens often with the minime.  I brought this up in post 16.  Occurs both in manual scan and signal finder sub-menues.  Only box I have had with this issue.  Very frustrating with the internal minime tuner.  The only other issue I have is losing audio after about 4-5 days with keeping the minime powered on.  Video is fine, but have to reboot to get audio most times.

Daz, great work with the TBS card addons!!

For audio loss You have to have TV out Adequate.
example: out tv 720p

in AZBox Me out same 720p,If it is different That supports your tv,Follows the same problem

Thanks rempfer,
Could you restart the box with tbs attached, go I to the various settings that trigger the spinner and post the dmesg and messages files in /var/log?
In the oatv forum threads about tbs support some user reported USB related errors in the logs and spinner as well. (Not sure what was done about it tho)
Blindscan i can't really do much about. There is a azbox blindscan util, maybe that conflicts somehow.

I have the issue with the minime and scanning or tuning channels with 5000 or less SR. My guess is that is the issue when blindscanning. I had mentioned it in another thread a while back, I could get some of the lower than 5000 SR to tune but had to adjust the freq down I think 5. The lower the SR the less likely to work. When trying to tune these you would get an endless spinner and slight 1 sec. break to pree a button and hope hopefully pull up the ch list...wait...press button to move to next channel on a higher SR tp ...wait for spinner...select that channel...wait for spinner.....
tune it and that can all be a 4-5 minute procedure.
SO channels like ASL/BYU  and AMG on C G19 cause a lot of problems...as does Montana PBS on KU AMC 21.
The closer to 5000 SR the better luck in tuning it without spinners.

BYU/ASL   3922 V 2980 8psk 3/5 fec
AMG         3847 V 2200  DVB S  3/4 fec

I hope this helps Daz!

I will do this and post back with the results.  I just wanted to comment that the (apparent) problem with blindscan could easily be caused by the "spinner" problem -- wouldn't you agree?  I'll get busy now on your request.

With the USB TBS5925, even just watching an existing channel, the spinner is constantly being called.  The only reason it's not showing up must be because it is not available.  I truncated the output, but the last several lines of the copy and paste below just repeat endlessly with the TBS5925.  This does NOT happen with the built-in tuner.  So the problem is probably not with Satfinder specifically, it just becomes obvious there because the spinner is available in that function.  I think the problem is that the USB TBS5925 is by default constantly looping a request to launch the spinner regardless of whether it's in Satfinder mode or not.

Thank you Rempfer!

Here is my log for the spinner issue with the internal tuner and SR less than 5000 and more specifically less than 3000.
Notice playing fine...then change channel to SR less than 3000...spinners...spinners...then change channel back to 30000+ sr and tune and play.
Hope this helps as well!

thanks again Daz!!!!!

Could any of you with a miniMe check how much free flash memory the box is reporting? As in disk space on the rootfs.
running via telnet

I've build a UBIFS image for the ME. it boots about 20 sec faster, and feels snappier and seem to use less RAM... but it has less diskspace available compared to the existing image. (it uses about same amount of that, so I end up with 15MB less available space for extensions, and stuff)

Wondering if its worth the effort pursuing.

thanks. that helps.
I think rempfer has a current openatv image for the TBS testing. would be good to see the current use.

but if any of you could run this (same for all) and post the output. Need it to make image for miniME. (not sure the util is installed by default tho..)

thanks a lot.
i'm battling with extending the init script to select the partitions and the type. .. But i might give up and only support UBIFS once/if this makes into the official image

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well. We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!
