Hello, i received my new Octagaon from Rick last week and cannot tune anything in my testing so far.  I am on SES3 and have locked 4140/30000 5/6 dvb-s2 8PSK on my other receivers.  The Octagon is set up as follows, can you see anything missed or set wrong?  Thank you!

Tuner Config:
LNB = LNB 1
Priority = Auto
LOF = C-band
Voltage mode = Polarization
Increased voltage = no

Tone mode = Off
DiSEqC mode = 1.1
Fast DiSEqc = no
Tonebust = None

DISEcC 1.0 command = None
DiSEqC 1.1 command = Input 2
DiSEqC 1.1 repeats = None
Sequence repeat = no

Manual Scan:
Tuner = A:Si21662 (DVB-S2)
Type of Scan = User defined transponder
System = DVB-S2
Satellite = 103.w C-banc Spaceway 1 & Directv 10/12 $ SES3
Frequency = 04140
Inversion = Auto
Polarization = horizontal
FEC = 5/6
Modulation = 8PSK
Roll-off = 0.35
Pliot = Auto
Network Scan = no
Clear before scan = no
Only Free Scan = No

Question 2 - LNB 2 is labelled loop out, what is tuner "B" for in the Tuner configuration menu?

What kind of diseqc switch are you using?

More info on your setup would help?

Edit:

their is NO LOOP-OUT
top one - LNB 1/RF In = tuner A
bottom one - LNB 2/RF Out = tuner B
make sure you are configuring to the one you are hooked to
and if you are hooked to tuner B
make sure you have the Octagon set for using tuner B

With version 6.1 firmware, you can configure the bottom tuner as loop out.
I have mine configured that way, although I haven't tried it yet.

I did not know that, Thanks!!!

Hunter, it would help to know the whole path from LNB to receiver?

Like in mine it's:
2@LNB's > 4x8 multiswitch (non22KHz side) > 1x8 diseqc switch (port 1) > receiver

I don't get a good enough signal on any of the 16APSK signals that I'm aware of to try.  At least until the leaves fall off the trees.  There are some  ACM/VCM that have 16APSK I could try it on that don't have video I guess, but I wouldn't know much about the quality of the lock.

Thanks for the responses.

* Using Tuner A only for now, haven't tried Tuner B yet
*The Switch is a 4 port switch with only 2 lines connected to, KU is on Input 1 and Cband is on Input 2.  This switch is currently in use for my HTPC and works fine.   The LNB's are connected to a 1X8 Vincor switch, then to the Diseq switch.  I have tried both the using the Diseq switch and directly connecting the LNB with no switch however, even when the Cband cable is plugged in directly the tuner is still deaf.  It scans so fast and reports 0 channels found immediately so that it appears as if no LNB is not connected at all.  I haven't even gotten to updating the image yet since the box doesn't work, so its still running version 5.3.  Thanks all for reviewing.  Hunter

Do you see any signal in Signal Finder ? I would hook direct and remove references to diseqc in the tuner config and make sure the box is seeing a signal first, if it's not.

Habs,  I have tried both tuner configurations with and without the Diseq - signal meter does not show anything in either config.  I will try one more time, why not but it isn't looking good

I think you are using the wrong Diseqc Command below?
Use the Diseqc 1.0 command and make it = Input 2
Also change the Diseqc 1.1 command and make it = None

Hope this will fix it for you!

EDIT:
Oooopps.....
Forgot you also should change the Diseqc mode to = 1.0

That will change the look from Diseqc mode and down, but hopefully you understand that you are using 1.0 and ku will be Input 1 and C will be Input 2, or maybe it's port 1 for ku or port 2 for C?
I don't use Diseqc mode = 1.0, so I'm not sure what it will look like, only that it will be a little different?
Hope I'm not confusing you to much!

I just noticed this, if you are using the blindscan plugin, it doesn't work yet? My understanding is they are working on it? So, if that is the case, you need to try and see if a manual scan will work?

He's not getting any signal. If the lnb's/cabling was working before it's either a configuration issue or the tuner is doa.

Well, I've had the thing in the loop thru mode for quite a while now, but as I said, I never tried it.  I just now tried it, and it doesn't look like it's working.  I hooked a sathero to it, and don't see what's playing on port A.  So I'm not sure why they call it a loop thru.

Hunter......Got the same thing here. Ku is perfect but no C- band. Ok on three other receivers on the same cable but not on the Octagon. Tried both A and B receivers with the same results.

Tried every thing suggested above with the same results. Great receiver with a great Picture.

I've never heard of this switch, what is it for?

I tried looking it up and found this site:
http://catalog.vincor.com/searchresults.asp?cat=227

Looks like some kind of amplifier?
If it is, why do you need an amplifier?
I don't know what it's for, so what is it?

Maybe I could use one?
