big_hemi  I meant a 'hard' reboot!  I did that, and it appeared to fix it a hundred percent.  I had to go outside, and feed, and water my dogs, it has been too hot outside.  So, I turned it off, and came back inside thinking when I turned it back I could possible confirm that it did fix my problem.  It appears to be a hundred percent again!  Hopefully, Jim is able to get his STB fixed!

This is a great website, with the moderator, and the members!  I wanted to get back and advise everyone that it was the 'hard' reboot that fixed it!

Thanks!

Glad you got it working!!

I've found that cutting the power for a minute or two on my AZbox ME fixes issues more times than just a reboot.

Leatherneck I did a hard boot several times and a data reset and it did not work. The HDMI port is toast as is my TV now. I will try a component to HDMI cable for the Azbox! Thank you.

Jim,  Thanks for your update, I am sorry you were not able to fix your Azbox with a hard boot.  Good luck in getting it fixed soon!

Many here are very capable of providing advise to assist!

Well I purchased a HDMI to component cable and hooked it up and no go! I attached the HDMI and plugged it into one of HDMI input ports on my TV and the component plugins to the AZbox component ports then went with the remote/receiver  into the resolution and tried HDMI (NSTC) and set the resolution with nothing. I tried Component with same result. Then I had a set of old monster component cables TV to Azbox and received SD only? I'm at a loss here.

Jim, I thought about you this morning, when I turned my STB on, and the television showed Azbox.  Then, I tried to get it to go to the menu, and it showed 10.  And the receiver showed checking.  After awhile, I was able to get it to reboot.  Finally, I successfully put it to sleep, as I have always done.  Then, after allowing it to remain turned off for awhile I turned it on, and it started working.
Is your problem related to the television, and the STB not wanting to play together?  Has your television, and the STB always been the same setup?  It is my suspicion that now you are able to make some gain with SD.
The reason I am wondering if the TV, and the STB does not play well together, is my concern that I am considering purchasing a new TV, and I am wondering if any of the newer televisions will have issues, such as possibly the newer ones with 4K, and the ones with newest technology.  Is that a possibility with your situation.  In my case will I have restrictions that will preclude my considerations with the newer technology?

Thanks!

You may have got the wrong adapter they are not backwards compatible....You have to get the component input to HDMI output and they are externally powered usually with a 5 volt transformer

Leatherneck same TV Pioneer Plasma with the same Azbox and setup for years! I am going to get a new 4K TV and purchase a receiver from Rick when available. This all happened after the lighting storm but still not sure if the lightning caused it ! I could get the TV and receiver to display with the component cables from the Azbox to the component inputs on Pioneer TV after the first incident. It's sad because I really liked my Azbox. To note I have another receiver which works fine connected to the system. Thanks again for your input.

Tracie could you steer me maybe to the right cable setup i.e. example brand. Thanks in advance!

This is the one I purchased:

Edited: I get now what you said that you need 5volts. I need a "video converter box" 5v powered!

Yes you got one that does the wrong direction. If you go to fle bay and put in Component to HDMI you should get a couple of different ones.  Here is the a link                                                                                                                                  http://www.ebay.com/itm/RCA-Component-to-HDMI-AV-Converter-Adapter-Box-for-VHS-DVD-PS-2-3-Xbox-360-Wii/292183297105?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649

Hopefully that will fix your problem. I know its confusing sometimes trying to order the correct thing off the internet because the listings are confusing and its easy to get the wrong thing because I did that the first time I order the converter LOL
