We had rain storm here with lightning and it my Azbox Premium HD powers up and display's OK on the receiver and functions ok with the remote and manually, but there no display on the T.V. screen? The HDMI cable is fine and my other receiver is working fine? I've rebooted it and unplugged it numerous time to no avail.

Edit: I just tried some component cables I had and the Azbox displays but not in HDMI?

Have you rebooted the azbox. Sometimes that might help? It has on mine.

Make sure it isn't in PAL mode in your receivers settings.

Also make sure HDMI is selected in display options.

I checked that too Rick! I'm wondering if where the HDMI cable plugs into the on receiver is bad or something?

If you verified the cable is good by connecting something else up with it, then it is most likely going to be a hard ware problem.

You can always try a factory reset and then navigate back to NTSC and set for HDMI again, just to rule out a software glitch.

You can unplug receiver and take the top off and find the HDMI socket and you should see 2 small push in tabs that help to hold the cable in place when it is plugged in.  With the HDMI cable out, you can very carefully using a very small flat blade screw driver, push those tabs in just a little bit, without breaking them, just to insure that when the HDMI cable is inserted, that they are touching and making good contact.

After that, it would seem that it would be a hardware problem that is not going to have an easy fix.  You could alwasy get a Component and Audio to HDMI adapter if you had to use an HDMI option.

Good Luck!

We have had the same problem with some of our equipment loosing the HDMI output after we have had a EMP Lightning strike close and end up using the component out with a component to HDMI adapter that are very inexpensive on fleabay and you still get 1080

My azbox ultra also has no HDMI note, but works 100% else for everything else. Lightning was the cause.

My receiver, and TV is experiencing somewhat similar by the TV not showing any picture.  Then, after a reboot, pix-elating, and freezing.  I changed the Diseqc switch to combination.  I thought maybe that helped.  And, it perhaps did for a few minutes.  Now, it is pix-elating, and freezing.  Now, I am beginning to think maybe it is the heat here?  I have turned it off to see what happens?

Thanks!

big_hemi  Thanks!  I do not believe the dish got knocked off track.  There has not been any storm here for quite awhile.  I will try a reboot!

Thanks!

It is just most important to share the find.
