Al:

I have some bad news / good newsfor right now involving tvheadend.

Bad news:

I installed the tvheadend program from OpenELECT's repository today on my rpi3b and could not connect to tvheadend's web page to configure. After investigating I found their tvheadend has to be updated for the new libssl modules in Krypton. There may even be more modules that need to be updated; this is just the first error:

OpenELEC:~ # tvheadend
tvheadend: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.35: cannot open shared object file: No such file

OpenELECT has this version:

libssl.so.39

Until they do an update for their tvheadend addon for kodi 17 this will be a no go.

A temporary fix:

I think I remember reading in the past that you had installed linux on a desktop. If so then I can hopefully walk you through compiling tvheadend on it and have OpenELEC on your WeTek connect to it.

I connected to my tvheadhend install on my desktop here with OpenELEC on my rpi3b and all worked. I had an error trying to enable the pvr.hts client here and found out they forgot to link pvr.hts.so.3.4.6 to pvr.hts.so in the new pvr.hts module package I had built. (See pic below showing it working on my OpenELEC on my rpi3b)

Let me know what you decide.

Ray

Ray, I would like to try the tvheadend in linux. Note that I don't have kodi either. I'm not smart enough to do that?
I have 2 computers that I can boot to linux on, dual hard drives with ubuntu on one and windows 7 on the other, also mint 17 on one of the linux hdd's.
I have tried to load kodi a few different times on each computer and failed at it.
On one of them I've tried to load tvheadend a time or two and failed.
The only program I've ever had any success with building is UDL's updateDVB program.
And I had several failures and a lot of help from this forum to get it going.
I'm now confident enough to build updateDVB on my own, I guess because I've done it often enough.

Also I would like help getting the addons file onto the sd card, or whatever it takes to get them loaded into your image.
I think that might help me to get some of the addons that are failing, to maybe load, especially ESPN3, since college football cranks up tomorrow night.
Although I will be at the Citadel @ Mercer game 7pm tomorrow.
Anyway Thanks Ray!

Al

I saw voomvoom in another post stating he was using my OpenElec image for the Wetek Play I had compiled back last August. I had completely forgot about it as I do not have a Wetek so I compiled the latest last night (Takes @7 1/2 hours on my AMD x64 4 core desktop to cross compile).

These new files below will bump up to Kodi BETA7 in the OpenElec 8.0 (My last post was BETA1). I would think that it should be in the last stages of being a beta and should be close to be a release and they have it pretty well polished by now.

These three files are for the Wetek Play Only:

First file is for upgrading my last image To Wetek 8.0 using Kodi BETA7.
Second file is a complete OpenElec OS image for a new/fresh install for Kodi BETA7.
Third file are 47 official kodi addons for the above two files (pvr, codecs and screensavers)

This first file is for upgrading my last Kodi image I posted here 4 months ago for the Wetek Play only.

This was my old OpenElec image for FYI:

OpenELEC-WeTek_Play.arm-8.0-devel-20160829102302-r22899-g8e0bb2c
Kodi 17.0 BETA1 (Krypton)

Put this next file linked below on yor existing OpenElec image I made in its /storage/.update/ directory and the next time your wetek play boots up it will install the upgrade and reboot into the new OpenElec Kodi 17.0 BETA7.

It looks like they have changed the API again so your existing pvr addon for tvheadend (pvr.hts) most likely will not work so you will have to uninstall it in Kodi and install the new one I compiled in the wetek-play-p8-addons.zip file below. The wetek-play-p8-addons.zip file has several other addons in it also. Copy the wetek-play-p8-addons.zip file on the OpenElect sdcard under the /storge/ directory and unzip it. Then while booted into Kodi go to your menu for addons  and find "Install from zip file" in the menu's then find wetek-play-p8-addons/pvr.hts/pvr.hts.zip and click on it. Make sure that the pvr.hts addon is enabled and the ip address is correct for the tvheadend backend in the pvr.hts addon Config.

This second file is a complete OpenElec OS image for a new install for the Wetek Play only:

Unpack OpenELEC-WeTek_Play.arm-8.0-devel-20161231182723-r23708-g0060defbd.img.gz

Burn OpenELEC-WeTek_Play.arm-8.0-devel-20161231182723-r23708-g0060defbd.img to a newly formatted fat32 sdcard (use a class 10 sdcard for best performance).
Safely unmount the card and stick in you Wetek Play.

Note:

On the first boot it may look like it is not doing much because it is expanding the file system to use all of the the sdcard's space. When it is done it will reboot into Kodi.

A side note:

While I was looking at the new OpenElec source tree I had cloned I was looking at all of the new make targets and it looks like Wetek is really starting to put out a lot of new models:

WeTek_Core
WeTek_Hub
WeTek_Play
WeTek_Play2

If some one has one of these others and wants me to compile OpenElec 8.0 with Kodi 17 Krypton for it's architecture let me know and I would be happy to. Although it takes an enourmous amount of time compiling; all I have to do is start it before I go to sleep and it will be ready the next mourning.

Thinking you may already may have the older upgrade .tar in the .update directory. I do not know how it will work out having 2 files there (old and new) you may want to remove the old file first or move it up 1 directory to save if you want to go back to it by moving it back.

I was looking at the TVH pvr.hts plugin today and it looks like that their scripts yet again (as once before) did not either name the module right or did not make the right link to the module they created when compiling:

 <extension
    point="xbmc.pvrclient"
    library_linux="pvr.hts.so.3.4.10"
    avahi_type="_htsp._tcp."
    avahi_ip_setting="host"
    avahi_port_setting="htsp_port"/>

All they have is pvr.hts.so

If your tvheadend does not work and you tried to install the pvr.hts from the zip file I posted:

Uninstall the pvr.hts if it installed
unzip pvr.hts.so.3.4.10.zip and put pvr.hts.so.3.4.10 it in /storage/.kodi/addons/pvr.hts/ directory
reboot OE
make sure the pvs.htr addon is enabled and the it's config is right.

If you have not done the upgrade yet:

copy the upgrade .tar file to storage/.update/
copy the pvr.hts.zip to the /storage/.kodi/addons/ directory
unzip pvr.hts.zip
safely remove the sdcard and put it in your wetek and boot it up
make sure the pvs.htr addon is enabled and the it's config is right

Sorry if you have spent a lot of time on this. I guess this is one good reason why they call this the devel branch.

Ray, sorry I've not responded until now. So you know where I'm at, the upgrade went smooth. But I lost my tv. Kodi itself works GREAT! The p8 addons I could not get to load at all. I spent hours trying to get something with the tvheadend to work. I finally walked away from it in frustation. I'm sure I had this problem of not being able to load the addons in my previous image. And the way I finally got it to load was with the network following instructions of yours to load the ag-addons that got me the Exodus plugin. So I did my best to remember how I did that and I got the p8 addons to load with success. But I've looked for them and can't find them anywhere, it did say success though, so I know they are somewhere? I also can't find the old files that were called wetec addons. I know they are called this because they are still on my computer. Then when I saw your last post I jumped head first back into it. Before I started again I was getting a fail everytime I tried something. Now after reading your new suggestions and trying to do them, when I start to load the pvr for tvheadend I get it can't load because of 2 files. So at least it's not failing now, it just won't load because of those 2 files. After a long time of trying to get it to work, I walk away again.
I'm not ready to jump back in right now, I'm sure the problem is me and my ignorance. I wish I knew what I was doing but I don't. When I do get back to it, I will do my best to find the old wetek addons file and get rid of them. Maybe then I will have success?
Thanks Ray!

Al

I think I said to uninstall the old one first. Anyway the files are in storage/.kodi/addons/pvr.hts/ directory.

Not having a wetek here is a little bit of a handicap here and I do not know what 2 files are in there and what it is looking for.

Take the sdcard out and put it in your linux box. In the storage window that pops up go in the menu under View and check the box that says Show hidden files.

Go to the .kodi/addonspvr.hts directory and open a terminal in that directory and issue this command and post a picture here so I can see it:

ls -la

Don't give up we will work it out.
