I have an S10 also.  The last firmware that I know of that may be available is the FW01272012.

You can try the old forum archives of FridgeFTA or LegalFreetoAir.  Or any other forums you know about.

Or at the last resort ... google Openbox S10 firmware FW01272012.

Did you have an emergency copy of your firmware in a safe spot on your computer?  No?  Ooops!!

Good luck.

Here is the tool and fw.  fw is HDS2dump.abs select it in the bootloader to upload.
Create a folder on you desktop and copy all the files from above into it. Then run the program.
STB is OFF with cable connected and connected to computer. setup info in program, click start and immediately turn on the box...if it connects and works you will see progress bar moving....may take several tries....needs to be a null modem cable.

again create a folder and copy all files into it.

Thanks, I was able to update with the earlier firmware and I got back the ability to use the front control buttons to navigate the menus. But is funny because I do it parallel withe the other S9 box a friend lent me and I am not sure it is going to the right place because the TV does not responds to the 8 different TV formats available for the my open-box.It seems to be there, but does not show the video resolution on the little front panel of the S9.
Furthermore, my friend's S9 when I get to the video format levels it shows the format level it is at that time and it show 480i on its front panel, which according to the manual it is the "native" format. So I assume that after a reboot/format my S9 should be able to come on its "native"  480i. My box off course says all the times that the format is not supported. So it seems to me that the firmware that I had previous  to my reset, was different than the one I am downloading now. I will download the second dump file I got and see, but both files have the same number of total bytes, so I am skeptical that will be any different than the previous HDS2_dump.abs

My S9 still does not responds to remote control signals, so I am thinking that this maybe the culprit and will replace this morning the Infra-Red chip in my set with another that was certainly working from and old Coolsat receiver.

Do you know if it is possible to "copy"/"extract" the firmware in the S9 from my friend to put in then later in my own S9 box?

are you using the hdmi output or rca (yellow, white, and red).

Yes you can copy it....on his do a dump of the fw onto a usb stick, then use it in place of my file.

I dont think it is fw though..but we will see. Glad you got the upload process going! [smile]
keep me informed! i will help as much as possible!

Neither one because I tried the components and all possible combinations and the TV does not recognize the TV format. I just use the front panel buttons right after the firmware update I got control back that way, but no video at all.
Other TV's I tried did not help either. So it is the S9 box

But it did it for 6 years until I did the infamous "reset to factory"
