Just a nice Ku searching day and I got lost. Pushed the 3 motor dish west some distance west of 125W. Are there any Ku sat signals in this region "or" am I getting "other" sat positions off the "side" of my 1.8 meter dish? In question are several V signals such as 12060 12100 12020 11980 all showing 30000 8psk or Qpsk. I see the open Tigo Star open  promo channel. As from 117W per Lyngsat. Language is I think mostly Spanish. I am some what lower on power several Ku tps with many each tv channels.

I though I was well west some place of 125W. Are there any Ku sats to be found west of 125W (yea 148W was there once)

Just going to have to go back and refine PBS on 125W and "reprogram" my brain as to where the dish was pointing. On this three motor dish because I can change the elevation and the skew one can get lost. Because of the limited east/west travel I have to twist the dish mount on the pole to cover  the entire sat arc overhead. Thus I get lost from time to time. Oh well. too many motors and pole positions. Some place I have a good sailing hand held compass--some  place. those mentioned locations of tps each had many listed channels as for a dish or cable tv service.
This is what I was picking up no matter where "I" thought the dish was looking.

AMC 1 is at 129 degrees West.
All data muxes.
Still has the odd skew.
Only Ku is active.

C band at 129 is Galaxy 12.
There are two data muxes currently active.

Had to go back and find PBS so I am now not lost. Thinking of putting a plumb bob off of the lnb arm and a stick in the mud for a future reference point.

After re-finding 125W and searching all of the sat positions west of 125W and getting many locks I never found a single tp where I could get any audio or video from the Ku lnbs. I hope this summer to build "that" H to H drive system with position feedback  for this 3 motor dish. The current motor linear motor has fine movement control but to short of a travel. For now that plumb bob could give feedback as to  where the lnb arm is pointing at. Just build a large "clock face" below the pole in the dirt and hang a pointer weight from the lnbs.

Today some where near 129W on the Ku band and with a QPSK continous signal I was able to hear the audio and see enough broken up video to think I was watching perhaps a hockey game.

somewhere Ku
11860 V 30000
AMC continous
44.640
36 MHz carrier width

Guess we need some new and better receivers as FTA signals are slipping away from us. A second look and I believe it is basket ball because of the brown wood looking floor. The saved file is 475 megs if any one else wants to see it. The audio track says down 16 points and rebound so I guess that is not hockey!

On the H side of this sat position there are 9 tps all with 30000 symbol rates. I believe it is the last sat position I can see in the west for Ku, so likely could be 129W. I will have to recount the slots over from the 125W location.

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well. We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!
