I have a few questions on how to use since i'm new to stb. When doing blind scans what is the transponder list for?

When I'm doing a blind scan on a satellite it's suppose to give me anything on that satellite that my box can detect, correct? Yesterday it didn't pick up the golf feed but I manually put in the feed and it was the presser, not quite sure why it didn't find it during the blind scan.

Also, is there a way to select polarity on stb, i'm using my 922 to change polarity but linkbox scans both V and H, not knowing what i'm actually on, wouldn't it be quicker to just scan only one polarity than switch the 922 and do the other polarity, instead of blind scanning both H and V each time?

Ok here is a real stupid question, how do I make the preview window on the top right to full screen? The manual doesn't tell you, hmm, usually I can atleast figure those things out.

You can go to 'Antenna Setup' and change the polarity from 'Auto' to 'H' or 'V' for an individual Satellite. But you'd be switching back and forth several times for each Sat. (Unless it is a Sat that you want to only use one polarity) That's the only option I know of... and I don't use it.

Practically all receivers miss a channel somewhere when blind scanning. The 9000i is about as good a blind scan as you will find.

Are you in the TV Channel List window? Keep hitting 'Exit' until it returns to full screen.

So what's the transponder list for in single satellite blind scan?

Nothing AFAIK.Maybe an option that never got programmed in?

To scan for one specific transponder, got to 'TP List and Search'.

Matt, I'll be away for a while. If you have more questions I'll try to answer them later if no one else does first. [smile]

Ok I have not been able to blind scan in golf today but can enter the tp and its there. I noticed it was giving me a failed at 3838 H 15000, the feed is listed as 3830 H 15000 in the golf thread, I can edit it by just one to 3837 H 15000 and I get 98%, just curious why it's missing it by one and giving me a fail. I guess I need to pay attention to failed tp's

The preloaded satellites have transponders that are know to be there. When you add a satellite that didn't come with the STB you would have to at least add one transponder so you can blind scan. You can grab a transponder off of Lyngsat to add and you'll be able to scan the rest.
I don't know about that one number being off thing. My Pansat 9200 and my older Pansat box occasionally would be off, sometimes a couple of numbers, but the channels would show up.

Sometimes with a large list of transponders, it is wise to delete all transponders[or H or V] and do a fresh scan.  Jess out in California.

It is just most important to share the find.
