The IRC channel is operational. We're on DALNet and the name of the room is #Rickssatellite. Come and chat, idle in the room and read the conversations, or just come when you have the chance. The channel won't show up when you do a /list command so you will have to do a manual join by typing /join #Rickssatellite . DALNet has a java based web chat client but it's best to get a real chat client such as vIRC, mIRC, XChat if you use Linux, or Chatzilla if you use Firefox as a browser.

I just tried the Java based client, very easy and much better looking than Chatzilla, plus I didn't have to punch a hole in my hardware firewall for it

Come on in guys!

Join us on Rick's IRC channel, its safe and easy with the Web based application. Nothing to install or configure.

Quickstart Guide

1. Go to http://www.dal.net/

2. Pick a username and hit the go button.

3. A chat window will open up. It will take 30 seconds or so to log you on and open. It starts in a generic room. Type /join #rickssatellite as shown. If a blank window comes up you probably need to update your Java for free here: http://www.java.com

4. You should now be in the Rick's Satellite chat room. Type a message and say "hi".

Mod Edit - Please use your forum name in the chat room if at all possible. It's not a requirement but it helps with familiarity between the forum and the chat room.

u don't have to use the online java based irc client,
you can also download / install a standalone irc client such as mIRC

that and be sure to define a new server named Dalnet, as
irc.dal.net

first thing I usually do is go thru and delete all the canned servers that come with it.
Then I go ahead and add my own custom servers that I actually use.
That saves from having to sift thru reams of servers I'm never going to use to select the ones I want.

Quick Navigation:

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well. We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!
