Where can I find some HDR content to see if the HDR icon shows up ?

i use my amazon prime account. if you dont have one you could sign up for the free trial..same goes for netflix.
here is the manual firmware download page for your tv

the nougat release firmware has a date of may 10, so it looks like its not available for your model at this time.

I remembered after I posted that Prime had HDR content and tried it. The tv reported that it was receiving HDR content but I have never seen as bad a pic as was produced. Definitely a problem somewhere.

Hi Comptech,

Away this weekend, so that is why my responses are delayed.

I am set up to purchase direct from Octagon in Germany.  They said that they are currently sold out and my order is expected to ship in June.  More details, exact date, price, etc. to come soon.  Still don't know what import fees, customs, taxes will be.

Thanks,

Rick

how long did you wait?  i notice the same thing with amazon prime until a couple minutes pass. i am sure there is some network conditioning going in the background to determine if the bandwidth is there to serve you the highest quality version of the program available.  definitely hard wire your tv to your router/switch.

you better get that figured out because HDR makes a significant difference with the larger color palette, mostly in terms of depth perception.

In my experience, HDR can be delivered with different resolutions. Just because it says HDR doesn't mean you're getting 4k. I've seen 1080p with HDR.

Ya I'm hardwired but I did not wait several minutes for the result so I will try that. The image was washed out in bright scenes very little contrast in dark scenes. Sounds more like a problem with my tv but like I say I'll let it run longer before taking a mallet to it [biggrin]

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well.
