Couple of questions about the dish for sale on the website.

1.) Can customers pick them up locally somewhere or must they be shipped, I would like to save on shipping if its not to far to drive?

2.) Would my current polar mount for the 180cm be fine for the new 2.4cm? I have the "SD180PM"one from sadoun.

3.) The ring on the back looks the same as mine would I be able to swap the dish only?

4.) Finally, is this even the right place to ask these question?

Thanks, Ryan

Someone may be able to answer some of the questions, but I would probably
just send an email to RickCaylor@aol.com, or pick up the phone and talk to Rick directly during business hours
for some of the product specific and shipping questions.

What about the ring on the back it looks the same as mine, would I be able to swap the dish and put the new one on my mount, has anyone done this before? I thinking I could make it work. I already have a nice heavy duty jack made for much larger dishes like 10 - 12 foot mesh dishes. How well does the 8 footers compare to a 6 footer?

Hi Ryan,

The dishes are stock in a warehouse in Wichita, KS and Yes, they do allow for customer pickups.

This is also where we keep the 1.2 Meter Patriot Dishes.

Yes, shipping costs are high for sure.

For the other questions about swapping dishes with the current Polar Mount, I do not have the answer, so hopefully maybe someone else knows.  My first thought would be No, but hope I am wrong.  Fortec made both Fixed Mount Dishes and Polar Mount dishes.  As far as I know, all N. American suppliers no longer have any of the Polar Mount dishes and this supplier is down to just the Fixed Mount dishes in this size.

Will it perform better than a 6' dish, Yes for C-Band.  Bigger is always going to be better to gather more signal.

The Fortec dishes perform very well for a light weight solid C-Band Dish.

Will have to see if anyone else answers that has had both the Polar Mount and the Fixed Mount Fortec dishes and if they think it would fit your Polar mount.  If you want to get me the measurements of your current mount ring and get some pictures, I will send them to my supplier and see if he can tell us.

Feel free to call or write direct:  rickcaylor@aol.com or 816-228-1801

Thanks to MajorTom and Mike for answering Ryan.

Rick

The 2.4m Fortec has a 31"diameter mounting ring,I don't about the Sadoun reflector you have, but I also have the 1.8m Fortec polar mount and it has a 21 3/4" mounting ring.I guess with some metalworking, one could make it work.

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well. We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!
