I"m using the latest Free version of EBSPro 16.0.0.1. Today, I noticed a high CPU activity of my PC, and when I looked at "Task Manager" I noticed the EBSPro SmartUpdater was using 18% of the CPU. It should be noted that EBSPro was not even being used or launched when this was happening. Later, I discovered that SmartUpdater created a very large log file (SmartUpdater.log) almost 38GB in size. Is this normal? If I hadn't caught this on-time this would have filled up my SSD disk drive! Any input as how to prevent this happening in the future will be highly appreciated.

The version I had is older but
I'll take a guess at it, I think in the settings (where you setup tsreader and vlc)  there's a place where you can change the size of the log file. I think?
The smartupdater thing might be on the main screen on the top right. I remember a place there maybe(on/off switch) were it would report if a transponder had been found by someone else. And there might be an updater thing on the main screen to see if there's a newer version available.
Sorry just guessing both my computers are tied up on linux right now. Someone might know for sure.

This is not normal, of course. Even the smartupdater.log file is cleared at start everytime. I will check what could be happen and I'll put an update if I find something that could cause this.

Meanwhile, you can disable SmartUpdater (Options -> Misc -> Untick "Check for updates automatically") and delete manually the smartupdater.log.

Sorry for the problem.

Thanks for your response and your time in providing the FTA community this great program for free. I already unchecked "Check for updates automatically" as soon as I identified the issue. Thanks, again!

I deleted the old huge file the day it happened and it generated this new one with very little data. I don't know what you're looking for, but I have attached a smartupdater log file. I renamed the extension so it conforms to forum requirements.

It has happened again. This time the file is a little over 3GB. I couldn't open it with neither notepad nor Notepad++

I think I located the problem, it also can affect the log of EBSpro. I'll put an update as soon as possible.

P.S: Not all users are affected by this bug.

Thank you.

Thanks for the update. Should I install over the the existing version or better to do a clean install?

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well.
