The two OpenATV 5.1 Images from October 11, 2015 and November 03, 2015 that I have installed on my "AzBox Me" have issues remaining on "Deep Stanby". When you select "Deep Stanby" it shuts down and quickly reboots the receiver. On the other hand, the Image from August 09, 2015 doesn't have that issue. Anyone with OpenATV 5.1 Images from September 2015 and later having the same issue?

I noticed the same thing this morning!!  Not sure if I ever used deep standby before, normally leave receiver on or regular standby.  AZBox Minime with OpenAtv 4.2 / September 2015 image.  Must have been an update problem.  Deep standby works fine on Boot1 with HDMU image.

OpenATV 5.1 from 20150916 won't stay off.  Reboots just as others have reported.  I guess it'll be a "deep standby" with power off before the blue light disappears.  Weird.

Hi folks. As this is still an issue in current v5.3 images. I'll see if we can do something about it. Tested an image from 26 August and deep standby is working. So something between 25th August and mid September 2015 broke it in openatv. Deep standby in current HDMU image is still working btw.

Yes Deep standby still doesn't work in the newer OpenATV 5.3 images on the AZBox ME unfortunately.  It will just reboot the receiver.

@ rempfer: you said image dates 20150916 won't stay in deep standby.
in my otherother thread about old 5.1 images, you posted a screenshot with file dated 20150915 and a text file that reads "openatv-5.1-azboxme-20150916_LastGoo..."
Not sure what the last good refers to.  related to the deepstandby?

The image from the 20150915 -was that still working as expected?
The image from
20150925 - is that broken?

could you post both if one is working the other one broken? or otherwise just the oldest broken one.

thanks.

I do not think it was related to the deep standby issue.  I did not keep good notes but I think it was related to something I read here on the forum about the blind scanner being broken after that date.  More than this I do not know.  Sorry.

The 20150915 last good referred to the channel freezing that came after that because of a radio patch fix that was submitted

found the culprit... (well, the last commit that causes restart when no timer is set).
there is still differnt behaviour compared to HDMU..
with timer set, openatv tries to start, but doesn't (loading 2% in the VFD, and the odd flash of the time), while HDMU just shows the time and doesn't "visibly" attempt to start - maybe they are better suppressing the loading 2%..
with no timer set, openatv has blank VDF, while HDMU is showing the time..

the one question i need answering before submitting any fix is whether this only affects the ME, or miniME and the various HD models as well...

edit: some more info

I only have AZBoxME, anyone else with other versions of the AZBOX can chime in.

Catamount seems to have miniME, and that seems to have same issue.
Leaves the HD boxes. I've asked on the oatv forum as well.

Actually. I'll let you guys try. (Those who dare)
As samba is installed as part of the image you can access the box file system from your PC or or course you ftp etc to get to the following file and edit it:
/usr/lib/enigma2/python/mytest.py.
Search for the following line:

        setFPWakeuptime(int(nowTime) - 3600) #minus one hour -> overwrite old wakeup time

And comment the line out with a #.
Save and exit.
Restart the box.

With no timer configured, the box should stay off. Let me know. The actual fix will execute this conditionally for non Azbox boxtypes. But for testing commenting out does the same.
