Thanks Mike.  Been scanning that TP all day for the little lady.  She'll be pleased!

arrrgh...wife wants me to record it, but my S9 gets choppy as soon as I turn on the usb HD...any way to fix this known? It won't record and gets unresponsive if I try to record..then yells at me "device speed to low" and seems to lock up....even pause does it...

How full is your hard drive? They seem to slow down as they go past 50% full. It's a high bit rate feed.

It is a 40 Mbps feed

40/8 = 5 MB/sec write speeds should be required

A modern 7200 RPM high capacity mechanical drive should see write speed capabilities of 120-160 MB/sec via SATA

A USB 2.0 drive should see write speed capabilities of ~33 MB/sec due to USB 2.0 speed limitations - that's still 6x what would be necessary to record this feed

Your receiver is the problem. It just isn't any good.

If it makes you feel any better I have a X2 Premium that pulls this crap too. Meanwhile if I hook the same USB 2.0 external hard drive up to a proper machine like my PC and record to it using my PC there will be zero errors. The receiver sits unused because I've learned you can never count on a receiver to be reliable.

ya, it's an older IDE via a 10 foot usb cord..usb2...but I think the issue is the fact that the S9 has to both display the feed and pipe it to the drive...if I unplug the drive, it plays fine...if I play the recording, it plays fine...but doing both at once I think is the culprit..wish I had a way to show cpu/gpu utilisation...gave up and now I record the abc feed g16c...wife happy, lol

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well. We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!
