Thank you for your reply voomvoom, I think it's a driver problem because as said it works like a charm on linux.
Waiting for Crazycat kind reply so... ;-)

I would not use the Skystar on Windows (other than XP), unless you want to destroy your computer. The driver is really bad. After using the device the second time after booting, it will hang and use your entire CPU until you restart your computer. So changing between CrazyScan and some other software is not possible either unless you are running Windows XP.

/Edit: Sorry, this post was primarily about the PCIe Skystar 2.

Ss hd usb not supported. BDA driver buggy and not offer i2c access. You can ask Technisat about BDA driver sources ( not need share sources, just send to my e-email).

I was afraid the problem was inside the drivers.

I'm curious, is there a relatively recent version of the SDK that used to come along with the Crazyscan files?  The most recent one I have seen is one that came out a few years ago when the TBS-6983 first appeared.  I think it was part of a download described as Crazyscan for the 6983.
Is there a version more recent than that?

It seems that something is wrong with streamreader for 5980. It is also not possible to tune DVB-S2 in direct tuning mode in EBSpro[confused]

This problem is only present for month in guest virtual machine. It seems that now TBS driver is automatically installed in host OS and it can't even be disabled. In guest machine it is possible to lock, but always awaiting data [frown]

Ricks Satellite sells a TBS 5922. The supported devices list for CrazyScan shows a TBS 5922 (SE).

What does SE mean? Special Edition?
Does CrazyScan support TBS 5922 (NOT SE)?

Thanks for the info.

Does this problem still exist with the 5922?

Quote:
What is your card, Omkar? TBS 5922?
If so, you will see only "fake" SNR for compatibility with streamreader's functions. TBS Blindscan Tool doesn't show SNR also. It is still unknown, how to receive SNR value from TAS2100 demod of those cards (5922/6922/8922). By the same reason those cards are useless for CrazyScan.

Could you also comment on which is better sensitivity 5927 or 5922?

TMAX210x based TBS DVB devices have full support in my StreamReaderEx-BDA since 2012. So this old post from 2011 no any sence now [smile]

5925/5927 vs 5922 ? [smile] STm demods always better [smile]

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well. We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!
