richard,
MPEG2 Video and Audio. Resolution is 704x480.
However the NBC transponders use DVB-S2 delivery system / 8PSK modulation  which the PS 2700 cannot receive.

Your best bet would be to get a new receiver that supports DVB-S2 and MPEG4.
If ya wanna keep the funds to a minimum ya could also start out with a DVB-S2 PC based
tuner like the Prof-7500 to get ur feet wet without committing a ton of cash.

regarding the local OTA status of NBC_DT2 in NYC have you tried contacting the local engineering team to let them know how it's playing for you?
Ya should be able to visit their website, most TV stations have a "contact us" link where ya can submit feedback.

MajorTOM,

Let me see if I have this straight.  On the Big Dish, Cozi is coming in full screen?? None of this stupid framing?   Does the picture look natural or stretched??  On NBC NY, I've got the picture framed on all 4 sides, and the picture looks real stretched.  Really lousy picture. I don't know if this is relevant, but I am using a standard TV with converter box for the Antenna. I will contact NBC NY if there is a discrepancy between the KU feed, and the Antenna.    So, what you are saying is that the picture on AMC1 looks totally fine???

That's probably not a good idea.  The Ku feed is not intended for the general public.  I suspect NBC NY does not give that OTA channel a lot of bandwidth, which means the picture is degraded.

Not a good idea to call.Have to remember this is just a hobby and we are not forking over any cash.....Cash is the bottom line and a gripe from a folk like us would be an irritant in most cases. On the other side it would be nice to send our money for ch`s we wanted but instead we are force fed DirectTV,DN or a local cable provider........There is a market for folks like us but they are not smart enuff to figure it out just yet.

I can`t give you specifics of AMC1 at the moment but on memory it looks just fine richyriles.

I got the message, so don't worry.  I understand completely.  Don't want to blow a good thing. If I reach them, I will just complain about the local NY feed, and surely mention zero about KU. I don't think they will be upset I'm getting COZO locally on a rooftop Antenna. Will an old Bell EXpress Dish be big enough to bring in 103W KU, or will I need something larger?

Thanks,
Richard

I`m not sure of the size of that Bell Express dish? I keep a 1.2 Ch Master parked at AMC1.

I switched out my Primestar for a 1.2m dish also, overall for Ku I would recommend 1-meter> to get a reliable signal. I know AC has mentioned it a few times that there is no magic LNB or wire to pull in a good signal, just size and correct aiming of the bird in the sky.

I have no problem with my primestar on 103W on K band. I would doubt your bell express dish is going to be big enough.

Just found a schedule for COZI on Titan TV. I live in Phoenix and Titan TV lists KVOA 4.2 ( NBC ) in Tucson which I can receive as carrying it. I checked and not on yet, probably starts the first of the year.

Looks like some of the affiliates besides the o/o stations will be carrying it.

You can go to cozitv.com, click on "Channel lineup" tab at left side of banner and select from over twenty other television stations to get a pretty accurate guide for there programing! I selected KXAS-DT2 which shows the guide for my Time Zone! Thanks

Can anyone tell me if Cosi tv is presently broadcasting. I have tried to find this channel now for a number of weekend to no avail. I have a 80CM dish with a h2h mover and ku band lnb that also will pick up circular signals. If it is working is there something I should try or do?? I am using a pansat 2500A receiver. Yes i still have this receiver, cause i haven't liked the new ones I have tried. Any help would be appreciated. thanks

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well. We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!
