They do it manually.  So it is not an automatic thing.  I just sent them an e-mail with the Serial number of your receiver.  You should hear from them soon.

Fubar,

They thought you were only registering and did not realize you wanted the editor.  They are sending to you now.

Thanks,

Rick

Hi Fubar,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.  Caught up on a large commercial project.

Did you get your editor?

Also, did the new IR and cable fix your remote control issues?

Thanks,

Rick

Nope no editor at all from them. And yes got the IR but seems to be working a bit better still the range is very limited.

Any info on any FW updates? I do like this unit but not having the full HH motor function working correctly kills it for me.

I know you have no control over this Rick, but seems to me that nothing is been done from their part even the editor hasn't even been sent.

Thanks

fubar,

They told me they e-mailed you the editor.  I will check with them again now.

The IR Eye I sent you worked fine here from the other side of the room or up close.  If you would send the other one back, I would like to try it here on a couple of different receivers and see how it works.

An Engineer who does work for me, saw the comments about the IR problem and sent me this:

Many common electronic products emit IR signals that can cause interference to IR remote control operation.  Some of the most common are:

1. Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL) - These are the lights that are commonly used to replace standard light bulbs
2. Normal fluorescent lamps
3. Plasma TV's
4. LCD TV's with fluorescent backlights
5. LCD TV's with LED backlights
6. Sunlight

To test for the problem, at night, turn off all electronics and lights in the room with the receiver and then operate the receiver with the remote control and see if the display on the receiver works correctly.  If it does, something is interfering with the IR receiver.  Then it's a matter of turning on the electronics and lighting it the room to determine what's causing the problem.  If it's a CFL, some brands cause less interference than others so try another brand.  I've also had some success with installing (taping) a black tube about 1" in diameter and about 2" long in front of the IR sensor on the receiver to limit the light exposure into the IR sensor.   Of course this limits the angle the remote control will operate, but normally the user can find a location in the room to reliably operate the remote by turning the receiver so the tube is pointed toward the location where the remote control is located.

And Yes, they are working with the engineers in China.  I recorded several streams and sent to DMSI and they sent them to China.  They came back and said several of the streams were corrupt and asked for some new ones.  I got tied up with some other commitments and have not gotten them the new streams yet.  Hope to find more time today to re-record and transfer.

I know I want fixes now, but I also know that it can take some time.  I remember back when the AZ Box Elites came out and they could not play the CBS Network feeds and it seemed like forever, but after sending several streams and receiving different firmware attempts, we finally got firmware that played them and how sweet that was.  So I am still hopeful for some improvements.

I have some devices that have the same IR eye type and work fine even with Plasmas and or LCDs and florescent lights all around it. In fact my DVB-S2 card in my PC has one and never had any issues.

Ok I will send you back the original IR EYE that came with the unit. As far as them sending me the editor, never happen and also checked the spam folder and nothing there.

Tim just e-mailed you and copied me.  Did you get it?  He did send the editor a while back.  We will get it figured out.

I know you have several devices already, but posted that info, mostly for anyone else reading this.  If I get your IR Eye back here and it works fine, them we may have to swap out the receiver and see if that makes a difference.

Thanks,

Rick

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well. We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!
