133W/G15 is one of my strongest satellites on the HOTDISH90 here in MN, specifically the 3721H transponder, I can't miss it. I also don't see a thing on the adjacent birds here, that is the only one I get in the130's range.

What you get all depends on where you are, the dish, receiver and how much time you put into the project.

Well you have to use a Scaler ring like shown in this picture to keep that from happening.

Glad so many of us are talking about this.  I've had the kit for about a month now.  Played with it some but I want to replace some u-bolts for the motorized mount so I can really swing and see what comes in.  Then I'll be back out there on the weekends working with it more.  I've been eager to see reception reports from those who are testing this project.

Well I am going to see if I can get it up and running next week, I am going to the hard ware store and get some parts to do it. Hopefully soon I can post how it worked.

Definitely it depend of many factors, freq/pol/etc from adj sats. I got what I got and returned to 10' mesh.

With the setup on my hotdish90 I find that adjacent satellites are not an issue. I can get feeds on 89W and stuff on 91W at the proper positions without picking up the adjacent satellite. However, my original work was with a Digiwave 1 meter using both a BSC621-2D and a BSC421. Adjacent interference could not be eliminated with any amount of tuning or positioning. The digiwave itself was the issue as it lacked the ability to focus just one C-band location. This problem became much worse on the Digiwave when I went from a Viewsat to a Traxis with a more sensitive tuner.

Just hooked up a Fortec 1.2M I've had in storage, tweaked the kit after I put it on, and WOW.  Amazed with all I'm able to pull in on 91W.  Now I really need to get that set of replacement U-bolts so I can mount the motor and swing this baby around.  C-band addiction, here I come.

I still see a few 4 foot Cband dishes kicking around where I live... they were used for subbing to a 1 sat package back in the VC2 days...

In one of your pictures you also have a Ku lnb connected whereas on the other it doesn't appear to be there.   can i ask if you used one of those multi lnb mounts to attach the Ku lnb or just made your own attachment point?   Also, how was the Ku performance being off center?   From the picture, it looks like the conical scaler is blocking the Ku lnb.

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to receive any C Band NCAA football or NFL feeds on a 4 foot dish?  I have small lot and can't put up a BUD.  I can get a way with miniBUDs though.  I have a motorized KU setup.  I really want the ESPN/ABC and CBS feeds...  Please let me know.  Thanks.

The kit for the Ku LNB is something we have on our site, the "scalar sidecar kit". It uses modded/customized parts from DMS and other sources. The bracket attaches using a longer bolt at the same point where the C-band LNB bracket bolts to the LNB arm. A guy with some time and fab skills can make his own setup fairly easily.

Any sidecar LNB especially with linear has degraded performance. Smaller dishes will see worse performance. I found with patience and tuning that I can get all of the Ku "regular" broadcast stuff with the exception of the RTN's on 83W. Tuning requires much experimentation and patience and of course will depend on the dish. The appearance of the scalar blocking the LNB is a bit deceiving. It is in the position for the highest Q. The offset in that picture is about 8 degrees as I recall. Going out to a further offset actually results in less quality on most channels.

I did a day of "mythbusting" with the C-band project, testing out various things that I have heard such as a socket in the scalar, weep holes and the like. For some reason I made a tin foil funnel for the sidecar, fully expecting it wouldn't do a thing or would kill the signal. I actually found that it boosted quality upwards of 30 points on some channels, where in on other sats it was flat or boosted by only a few points. So I crafted a metal version nicknamed "GAYLER" because it just looks gay. LOL. But it works.

I've got a guy in atlantic Canada doing this with a BSC621-2D on a 1.2 meter. He has gotten the ABC stuff and other broadcast channels on G16 C-band. He is also pulling down more on G17 than I can see here with the hotdish90. I get the GDMX mux, the ABC HD feed thingy, and some other stuff on 99W but can't see any of the stuff that might have NFL games. I hit wildfeeds on 89W, 91W and 99W too.

Feeds are really unpredictable with the project. Basically I don't promise anyone that they can get anything at their location as there are so many factors discussed elsewhere in this thread that determine what you can receive in your situation.

Are any of the NCAA feeds on Big10 network or carried by Fox Sports? If so you can most likely get those. Everyone that has reported back on the project across USA and Canada seems to be able to get G17 fairly well, so if those have some of what you are looking for you can probably get them.

there is a insane amount of NCAA football SD and HD available on KU band... I think more, or the same as on Cband.

this past season there was easy 13-15 games on every saturday on KU... you are gonna wanna get a hd fta box to get all the feeds.

you unfortunatley wont find any NFL... except the azteca channels were showing games in spanish.

you might get some feeds with a mini bud but I dont know... you could get the CBS on 95, G3C... it has strong signal. but a 4 footer is way too small for the dvb-s2 channels, and weaker channels/feeds.

Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed.
