I had a hard lesson to learn about sending receiver off for remapping. It took 3 months and when receiver returned I had to set the limits and satellite position #. Something unexplained happened and the receiver bricked. called Glentech and was told to send receiver back the and said that would not happen because of a return $80 shipping cost.[I live in Calif.] I lost on the initial repair $200 and have nothing to show for it. Purchased a JTAG and following the instructions able to map receiver my self in a few minutes. Tried to get maps from Glentech and was told that he used special software and was unavailable for my use even though I had purchased the deluxe set.
My suggestion is do it yourself because of the problems I have had.  WHAT A NITE MARE !

Hello everyone on this forum.

After filing dispute cases with Paypal and my credit card company a few months ago, the cases are now closed and my account was fully credited back.

HOWEVER, Glen has not returned my 905 sidecar, after numerous messages left with him to return it and now he is in possession with stolen property.  Glen is a CRIMINAL, THIEF, and CON / SCAM ARTIST.  I had already filed reports against him at the local and federal levels and I am awaiting the outcome of their investigations.

Avoid Glen like the plague he is!

I'd expect no  less from a person of this caliber and had tried to warn people not to do business with this type of person.
Of course all that smooth talking  that flows from his lips can not be trusted and must be taken with a grain of salt.

Sorry to hear you had all this happen to you.
Sounds like stealing to me.

Others who used his services had their receivers
compromised by TvroPro by him placing other receivers info in them which only
shows his lack of integrity and judgment when it comes to everyone else out there
and once more that was done by theft & deception as the original receivers info he
had put into other receivers he had no legal right to do and was done without the
knowledge nor consent of the original receivers owner
.
This placed critical information into receivers where it did not belong and can possibly put them at risk for
being turned off if they use those receivers to sub to any programming.
(That part is repairable but only by the programmer and myself at this time if we have that nvram from those receivers)

You did right by notifying your local authorities and I hope you also completed the IC3 complaint online since this
originated on the internet.

At least now people know not to use Glentech, 4DTVOnline, (AKA)GlenTech Enterprises (AKA) GlenTech Inc. (AKA) 4DTV Online By TvroPro

To anyone who can not do the required work themselves I suggest ATS Electronics whose reputation is
impeccable, and
they do not charge anything near the high prices the one in Chicago is charging people.

I contacted Glentech about getting the new maps put in my unit awhile ago since I regualrly am in the Chicago area, I thought this could be I take it in and come back later to get it . was told this would not work since the process took several weeks to accomplish, and I would have to ship the unit in and pay for return shipping.

Although my reading of things is that if you have a computer that the mapmaster prgramme can work on and the proper equipment and know what you are doing it can be done in a couple of hours. Si nce I only have one 4dtv and it is used as a dish mover I never proceeded further however after reading stuff on here gald I did not.

The process would take a couple of weeks?
Wow!

I hope you did not believe that it took that long to do.

Maybe you should read this thread here.
http://rickcaylor.websitetoolbox.com/post/Time-setting-for-4dtvs-6083472?trail=#13

He sent me his nvram from a receiver with a bad unit id and I went even a step further to make sure all his settings he had in it remained so he would not have to reset his dish up again...
Now that took about 40 minutes to do but he had it back to him and re-installed on his receiver in about an hour and a half but that was not the norm.
We took our time to test things out first to make sure his time zone was correct and some other things.

Usually if you want to redo your maps it takes you about 20 minutes from stat to finish for most first timers.
That is after you have the files put in the proper places on your pc from the web site we put up for people.

All you need is the BDM NT board from the man in Canada and your set to go.
so for $68.00 total cost you can keep up with your own mappings.
Far cheaper then anything in my book for those on a budget and then if your absolutely no good at computers you can use ATS Electronics who will also give you stand up service.

Also by doing it yourself you know that your receiver woulds not be compromised by having other people's info placed in them.

Vendig,

Can you tell us more about the BDM NT board like links on where to get it?  Could use some docs on how to use it if you have that too.  I have a 905 that's been collecting dust and might need to be restored.

Jim

In figured it would not take that long since a master reset used to only take the bulk of an afternoon.

My unit is still working as well as I figure it should- basicaly use it for a sish mover for the few things I am interested in FTA- not used it to tune anything by itself for a very long time. Did not think there was much left up there.

From my understanding these various setups only work if you have a Windows PC something i do not have. I have what some would consider an "Mac" powerbook that is running OS 9. Correct me if I am wrong. Someone said a programme one could use on the AZbox to rename sats and such would work on any computer but no one told mine.

There is a map master restoration program in Windows and a map master restoration program for Linux users on the website.
Anything more than that you have to ask the main programmer about when it comes to the computer part of it.
A inexpensive laptop with windows in it can be found for right around $100 used.

As for what is up there.... All I can say is that these receivers still have plenty to offer to the hobbyist if the maps are done right.

I just receiver another file a person pulled out of their receiver they had in at glens and he was not happy and I can see why once I saw the mappings that was put in the receiver.

Well, I was told that Glen, (tvropro) has had some rather unpleasant things to say about me in his forum.  It does not surprise me and I have not seen them and don't care to and will not respond to them.

Instead, just let folks who visit this forum and read this thread make up their own minds about this individual.

Thanks and Good Luck Glen!

On the web site , there is a news post dated 2-10-13 about a new C band receiver.  After reading the info again and again, looks like it is just a dvb reciever with a conditional access port [much like the Manhattan].  It does talk about "brodcast master quality" though.  Looks like they are starting up a satellite store also.  Interesting reading.  Jess

This post is being written to try and protect anyone who does business with:

Glen Musielak
4933 S. Laporte Ave.
Chicago Illinois, 60638-2106
(773) 284-2630

I was scammed, lied to and a fraudulent bin file was placed in my Motorola 920 4DTV.

My battery died in my 920 4dtv, and I looked around on the internet and through a website recommended  glentechservices@sbcglobal.net this was on 10/21/11.  I contacted him and he quoted me the price as follows:

$50.00 battery replace 921.
$15.00 lithium battery. (with 3 times the capacity of the stock battery)
$45.00 update maps to latest custom on DSR 921 with battery change $60.00 without.

I told him I had a 920 and his response was: The cost is the same for the 920 & 921. They are more or less the same unit.  He quoted me a price of:  “Total with return shipping and handling is $138.50 This needs to be prepaid. I take paypal or a check sent with the unit.”  I sent the unit out on 10/21/11, not hearing anything from him for a while, I contacted him on 11/10/11 and he told me the following: “Yes I have it and changed the battery already. We are now working on your custom maps. Probably be ready sometime next week.”  On 11/17/11 I got the following email from him: “Here is an update on your 920. I have found a problem with the unit that I fixed. There were two bad capacitors in the power supply that was causing a reboot problem while we were trying to get the maps in there. The cost for parts and labor is $37.00 Please send this to us via paypal so we can finish up the 920 and send it off to you.”  I paid the $37.00, the same day I got the email 11/17/11.

He got the money the same day and emailed me the following: “I just got it. Your IRD will be ready to ship next week. You can ask your questions now if you like.”  Later that night he sent me the following email: “The maps are in the IRD and I took care of the problem with the power supply. I'm testing it now.”  I emailed him back, and asked him when he will be shipping it back, and he emailed back and said: “. I try to check out certain things on each IRD when they are here. If they need attention I like to take care of them so they have long lives. Yours showed me there was attention needed. Glad I was able to make it right while here.”  On 11/23/11 I emailed him and asked him if he sends out tracking numbers so I can track it, he wrote back and said: “I always send out tracking data soon as it rolls. I've been so busy that I forgot the holiday was this week and regular shipping day for me is either thurs or fri. I will get your receiver out to you real soon. I'm sorry for the delays. Being a one man show there isn't enough hours in the day to get everything done most of the time.”  On 11/25/11 I emailed him that I was not trying to hound him or anything, but he said that the unit was ready and he was just testing it, when will he be shipping it out.  He replied “I'm sorry this week got off normal schedule due to the holiday yesterday. We weren't open for normal business today too.

Shipping has been pushed into next week that should have gone out by today. Your receiver is fine. I apologize for the delay. I want to get shipping out early next week that was to go out today.”

On 11/28/11, he emailed me the following:

“I have some extra good news for you. First off were hopeing to send your IRD tommorow. The second thing is I put our newest maps that we just made over the weekend in your 920 today because of your patience and understanding. These have the channels mapped in right on the original satellites.

Your IRD even with the bad ID will get Music Choice. I left it on G5 844 the 70's channel.”

I will send you a tracking number when we get it. Thanks again for your patience.”  On 11/29/11, he finally sent me the shipping tracking number.  I emailed back and asked about a warranty and he sent me the following: “Warranty on repair done labor is 30 days. If you have any questions feel free to call us at (773) 284-2630”  I got the unit on 12/4/11 almost 2 months later.

I have been a member of Fridgefta.info since 11/04/11.  I was having problems with my 4dtv and decided to purchase the hardware $68.00 and try to get the unit back to normal.  I also download the software which is “FREE”, and got help from a man who I cannot thank enough for what he did for me for “FREE” this man VENDIG who is a member of the Fridgefta.info.

I found that the bin file that was put in my 920 4dtv by

Glen Musielak
4933 S. Laporte Ave.
Chicago Illinois, 60638-2106
(773) 284-2630
was taken fraudulently from a programmer, and placed in my receiver (and probably many others too).  This bin file is a Canadian file for the 921 I have a 920 USA model I also did NOT have the full maps that I had before I sent my unit out to him.  I also noticed after opening my unit that some things were swapped out of my unit and replaced with used parts, not the original parts that were in the unit before I sent it out.

There are many other things that I would like to mention but cannot at this time.

I have notified the Attorney Generals Office and they told me that what I put in this post is fine, and they will be notifying the FBI as this involves Canada, and the USA and with this I am trying to put this Fraud Glen Musielak
4933 S. Laporte Ave.
Chicago Illinois, 60638-2106
(773) 284-2630
out of business and to let others know of this man, that he is a Fraud, Liar and Thief, DO NOT DO BUSINESS FROM HIM!  I got burnt, don’t you.

Lastly, a civil suit will be coming after  Law Enforcement Officials have finished their investigation.
